Outside the flat the canal side can be directly accessed and provides a traffic walk into the Bancroft canal basin, the River Avon and the town centre with its pubs, shops and restaurants.

Bicycles can be hired locally. The canal path north to King's Norton is a great "starter" ride as only 3 miles away Mary Arden's house can be found along with two great pubs [or it can be walked in 70 to 90 minutes each way].

Electric and rowing boats for the family can be hired by the hour on the River Avon between Easter and the Autumn.

Further details

Children of all ages are very welcome. Although the flat is on the ground floor there are 7 steps up from the front door (because of the slope up from the river valley) though there are hand rails on both sides.

The Central England/Cotswolds region

The Cotswolds are a beautiful region and the attractions of Warwick Castle, Oxford, Malvern and much more are within easy reach by car or train. Stratford-upon-Avon itself is a great all-season holiday. There are many other attractions such as Kenilworth Castle, Worceseter, Leamington Spa and much much more.

Stratford upon Avon

Stratford upon Avon is a beautiful town and home to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre as well as William Shakespeare's birthplace, excellent shopping and other attractions. The great advantage of the apartment is that once parked in the private car park the town can be enjoyed on foot. Note: The Courtyard Theatre is playing whilst rebuilding work on the main theatre progresses (Completes autumn 2010).

The apartment is situated by the tow-path of the Stratford to Birmingham canal and the canal system provides excellent cycling and walking. The canal joins the River Avon just 5 minutes walk away and there are river trips and a beautiful park by the river with plenty to watch and do.

Traditional English breakfast is available at the Grosvenor Hotel just one minute's walk away from 07.30 in the mornings (check times in guest leaflet book) at a cost of £11.95 per person.
