The Central England/Cotswolds region
Warwickshire is most famously known for Stratford upon Avon and it being the birthplace of William Shakespeare.
Nestled between Birmingham and the West Midlands to the north and the Cotswolds to the south Warwickshire has a fair share of rolling countryside and history and heritage to share.
Places of interest within the county include Kenilworth and its magnificent castle ruins. It is also thought to be the location of the first planted potato on British soil that Sir Walter Raleigh brought back from South America.
Leamington Spa displays much Georgian and Victorian architecture and therefore has a rather grandiose appearance. Due to population expansion, Leamington has seemingly blurred its boundaries with Warwick. Its student population has created a lively night life and many restaurants and bars to choose from whether you are wanting a bargain or something a little more extravagant.
Stratford upon Avon
Welford on Avon is just 4 miles from Stratford upon Avon and serves as an ideal location for touring the local area but being just that little bit away from the hustle and bustle of the tourism that Stratford attracts.
Also nearby are the beautiful Cotswold villages of Stow on the Wold, market towns of Burford and Woodstock not to mention the dreaming spires of Oxford or the history at Blenheim Palace.
Welford stands on the River Avon and is a small village with all your essential amenities and three pubs to choose from. It is also home to the tallest Maypole in Europe.
In nearby Stratford all your cultural needs are catered for. A number of theatres playing a large variety of Shakespeare's plays; it is home to the Royal Shakespeare Company. Shakespeare's birthplace can be visited and a walk through town provides a fascinating observation on Tudor architecture.
A mile from the centre in Shottery village is Anne Hathaway's Cottage, which is actually a substantial 12 roomed farmhouse and was the pre-marital home of Shakespeare's wife Anne.
Mary Arden, Shakespeare's mother, had a house in Wilmcote just three miles out of Stratford, which now houses a large museum to the history of rural life.

With referance to this review. I would like to state that this guest booked a 2 x bedroom property, but there were 2 adults and 4 children who were all staying here, so would not be very cosy. The bathroom has been refurbished in the last 12 months to a high quality. When this guest left the metal shower hose had been bent which stopped the flow of water and blew the shower. This had to be replaced at a cost Of £250.00 and was still being replaced when the next guest arrived. If there is any problem with the property I ask guests to give me a call and if possible I will deal with immediately.
