A modern beautifully furnished 1 bedroom first floor Apartment situated in the grounds of a stunning Country House exactly half way between the popular Towns of Henley In Arden and Stratford Upon Avon (only 3 miles from each.) The Apartment is situated in the grounds of the House in such a way that it is entirely private. This is not a small Studio Flat but a lovely sized stand alone Apartment with a completely separate Double Bedroom and Living areas. There are also two single sofabeds in the Living Room so making it possible to sleep 4 people in complete comfort (a Cot can fit easily into the large Double Bedroom so it is actually possible to sleep 5.)

The Central England / Cotswolds / Warwickshire region
We are in a small Hamlet equidistant between Stratford Upon Avon and Henley In Arden (3 miles from each.) We are very close to Warwick and the wonderful Warwick Castle. A short drive will take you to the beautiful Cotswolds.
Stratford Upon Avon is a beautiful Town and home, most obviously, to The Royal Shakespeare Theatre as well as William Shakespeare's Birthplace - and a total of five Houses connected with him to visit.
This whole area is steeped in History - National Trust Properties and Gardens, Heritage Properties, Landscaped Gardens, Castles, Canals, Moated Houses, Water Parks, Farm Parks, Arboreteums, Museums, Ramblers Walks..........You can play Golf, hire a Motor Boat or Rowing Boat, take a trip on a Barge, hire a Punt, go up in a Glider, visit a Haunted House, take a Balloon ride, walk the longest Aquaduct in Europe, go Clay Pigeon Shooting, buy scrumptious local produce at our superb Farmers Market, visit a local Brewery, enjoy a night at the Theatre, eat in the most wonderfully diverse array of Restaurants, Bars and Hotels - and all within a five minute car ride of the Apartment!
There are few finer places in the UK to go shopping than Stratford Upon Avon, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Birmingham and all of these places are just a short distance away. What could be better than going out for the day into the hustle and bustle of these major Towns and then returning to the Lodge to change for Dinner out at one of our superb Local restaurants. Whether you wish for simple English food or perhaps Chinese, Greek, Caribbean, Italian, Thai, French - these, and more, are all available a short distance away.
There is more to see and do than we have managed in the years that we have lived here, and we will happily recommend to you days out based around your personal preferences.
Stratford upon Avon area
Being only 20 miles from central Birmingham, 3 miles from Stratford Upon Avon and Henley In Arden, very close to Warwick and Leamington Spa, and only a short car journey from the Cotswolds there are umpteen things happening throughout the Year around and about in the area.
You will find in the Apartment loads of local information and ideas of things to do to help plan your time here. A superb day out may include visiting infamous Broadway in the Cotswolds or the beautiful and historic Towns of Chipping Campden or Bourton on the Water.

One of our well known local Pubs/Restaurants is "The Kings Head" in Aston Cantlow, famous for its Duck Suppers - voted the Best Warwickshire Country Pub for 2007. Many other fabulous Restaurants locally, several spectacular Golf Courses and many superb country walks - also we are on the edge of the Cotswolds with its endless superb days out and historic and romantic places to visit.....Warwick, Leamington Spa and Oxford are all a short drive away - and why not spend one day at Bicester Shopping Village snapping up those wonderful designer bargains! Perhaps a Days Horse Racing at either Stratford or Warwick Race Courses.

Further details indoors: A recently refurbished and redecorated, totally double glazed, very comfortable first floor Apartment with countryside views from all of the rooms.
The Apartment is entered via its own front door off a private Courtyard. You go up a flight of stairs into the Living area that boasts a newly fitted, beautifully appointed, kitchen complete with superb Italian Designer Halogen Hob, Inbuilt Fridge, Oven, Grill, Microwave, Extractor Unit and variable downlighting with dimmer switches. There is a Dining Table with four chairs and countryside views out over the fields. The Living Room area has two Settees that will comfortably seat four people, and they fold down quickly and effortlessly to form two very comfortable single Beds. There is a television and DVD Player. There is also a varied selection of Games and Books for those quieter moments.
A large double Bedroom, complete with a high quality Double Bed with a supremely comfortable mattress, and electric Blanket, is situated off this main Living Room. There are built in wardrobes, complete with plenty of shelving, and a large chest of drawers. Also ample room for the large good quality Cot that we will happily supply at no extra charge if required. A Radio Alarm Clock is provided for your comfort.
Go through a further door and you are in a well appointed modern, spotlessly clean, white fully tiled ensuite Bathroom that contains the WC, hand wash basin with cupboard under, and separate shower, shaver point, complimentary soap, shampoo, loo rolls, hair dryer etc
Quality, freshly laundered Linen for all the beds are provided - as are lovely thick fluffy towels! China, kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery etc are also supplied. The kitchen is well equipped and contains everything that you could possibly need for a very comfortable stay. A "Welcome Pack" full of all sorts of grocery goodies is provided with our compliments and you can buy the rest of your requirements from our lively local Grocery Store, or you may prefer to visit the 24 hour Tesco's about five minutes drive away! A Marks and Spencer Store complete with a superb Foodhall is also very close by.
There is a fabulous very large indoor Swimming Pool situated off the same Courtyard as the entrance to the Apartment - you do not share this with anyone, it is available exclusively to you when you rent the Lodge. The Pool area also has its own superb fully tiled Changing Rooms and a separate full wet room both with underfloor heating with shower, washbasin and wc also. The whole Pool area was completely re-decorated and modernised in early 2008..... There is loads of comfortable seating around the Pool where Parents can sit and read a good Book whilst the children swim! Most of our Adult guests cannot resist a swim themselves though!! The Pool is ideally suited for both adults and children alike.
Below the Apartment there is masses of storage space for Golf Clubs, Bikes and any other items that you may have.
Further details outdoors: Situated in a quiet country lane and perfectly situated for sightseeing, walking and many other Countryside pursuits, and yet so close to the vibrant buzz of Stratford upon Avon, The Cotswolds, and Warwick with its infamous Castle.
The Apartment has its own private and separate entrance off a lovely Private Courtyard area. Wonderful Countryside walks begin immediately outside the Property's entrance Gates. We are a 200 yard gentle stroll from the Canal - this flows right into the centre of Stratford Upon Avon. Private secure parking right outside your front door behind Electrically operated Gates. There is a children's Play Area including Swing, Slide and Monkey Bars in the Grounds.
The Owners live in their House within the Grounds with their two children and two very gentle and friendly German Shepherd Dogs - both, if asked, love a good game of football with our guests! If you are not keen on dogs please just advise us as the layout of the Property is such that it is not necessary for you to come into contact with them if you would rather not - we would advise though that many a nervous young person has been converted to ardent dog lovers after just a short while with our two!
There are several areas within the large garden where you may sit and enjoy a glass of wine and take in the countryside air. We are fortunate to have an acclaimed private Livery Stable (not open to the public) next door to our Property and so generally there is a large and varied assortment of beautiful horses milling around in the field adjacent to our grounds (they are wonderful to look at, but each is privately owned and so they are not unfortunately available to ride!) Horse riding is available a very short distance away however........

~ An Iron and Ironing Board are available to use. ~ A Washing Machine is available to use for the odd wash in the Owners House for those staying for 1 week or more - by prior arrangement. ~ The Apartment has a smoke detector, fire extinguisher and fire blanket.

Should you be visiting us to celebrate something special and you would like us to pre-arrange Restaurant Bookings, Champagne, Wine or Flowers on arrival then please ask and we will gladly do this for you and would only ask that you re-imburse us for the actual costs of any such items or services.

NB: Prices may be subject to change at the owner's discretion. ~ WE WELCOME SHORTER BREAKS - minimum of 2 nights. ~ Prices quoted are for your use of the whole Apartment and Swimming Pool exclusively, not per person. ~ Use of the Pool, The Lodge, and other facilities, are restricted to the immediate Group/Family renting The Lodge only. ~ A 30% non refundable Deposit is required at the time of booking as a guarantee for all Bookings taken. For longer stays the balance for your stay is due 30 days before your stay commences. For short breaks you may pay the balance in cash upon arrival. ~ A refundable breakage Deposit of £100 cash is required on your arrival and will be returned when you leave assuming any damages/breakages are replaced and The Lodge is cleaned and left as you find it. Any breakages/damages costing more than the value of the Deposit must also be paid for in full. ~ We accept payment in GB Pounds or Euros (and most other currencies by arrangement) either by cheque, cash or Bank Transfer. ~ We would ask that you leave the Apartment as you find it - but should you wish to just pack your bags and leave at the end of your stay a final cleaning service is available (not including cutlery or crockery) and will take place after you leave for an extra cost of £25. ~ For those staying for in excess of 1 week we are sometimes able to offer a quick mid-term clean that takes about 40 minutes for which we charge £15=00. A change of all bedlinen and towels is also available at a cost of £15=00. Please let us know if you would like us to arrange this in advance when booking the Apartment. ~ A "Welcome Pack" full of grocery goodies such as tea/coffee/milk/orange juice/cakes/bread/eggs will be waiting for you with our compliments. ~ Arrival time is 5pm or later and we would be grateful if you could leave by 10am please on your departure day so as to allow time for cleaning before the arrival of our next guests. ~ Should for any reason including, but not limited to, technical difficulties, machinery failure etc the Swimming Pool is unable to be used by your party during your stay then we may offer a pro-rata maximum rebate of £15 per 24 hour period for which our guests are unable to use the Pool. In any event we would always endeavour to contact you before the start of your stay if it became obvious that this may become an issue. ~ Should we have to cancel your stay in The Lodge for any reason then the maximum "compensation" we would offer would be up to the full cost of the Holiday that you had already paid for at the time of cancellation. For curtailment by us then a pro-rata figure would apply. ~ Certain peak holiday weeks of the Year (i.e. Christmas Week/New Year/Easter and other major Holiday times) may be subject to an increased charge - this will be confirmed at time of Booking Enquiry. ~ Finally, do not forget to purchase independent travel insurance for you and your Party - to cover any medical treatment, personal accident, luggage lost in transit, theft, transport delays, etc. ~ You will find when you send us an email via this Website (Holiday Lettings) that you are automatically offered details with regard to local Car Hire, Flights etc.
