Without doubt the Western Cape is South Africa's most visited province and its hardly surprising. Starting from the wild rugged landscape of Cape of Good Hope (next stop Antartica) ,through the lovely cosmopolitan city of Cape Town and then on to the rich lush winelands that encompass Somerset West and of course Strand , and not forgetting the glorious garden route you will experience some of the worlds finest scenery and delights.
Strand area
Strand , blessed with a beautiful all year around climate,is the ideal location to have a wonderful relaxing beach holiday and at the same time to explore Western Cape in a nice stress free way.
Strand lies in the embrace of the Helderberg and Hottentos-Holland mountains that surrounds some of the most spectacular scenery in the Western Cape.In the hinterland of Strand just 15 minutes drive away lies the most important wine producing estates of South Africa such as Meerlust, Middelvlei, and Simonsig. All estates are open daily and provide wine testing facilities and where you can buy some quality wines at really knock down prices.
Strand has many sporting facilities such as some of the worlds finest golf courses. In fact Strand Golf course is about 5 minutes drive from your apartment and you might also like to try the world famous Erinvale course that is about 15 minutes away.
Strand is ideal for shore fishing, kite surfing,boat sailing, surfing or just relaxing and swimming in the balmy and safe waters of Strand's famous safe beach that is commonly known as the Riveria of the Cape
Strand is blessed with many fine restaurants to suite all pockets and if you want to do some shopping you can visit Somerset Mall (5 minutes Drive) where you will find one of South Africa's largest and finest retail centres.
How to get there
Strand is just off the N2 motorway between Cape Town airport and Somerset West and is only 30 minutes drive from the airport.
Car hire is recommended and all international car hire companies are based at the airport
Note - if you don't want the hassle or a bit nervous of car hire until you find your bearings we will gladly arrange an airport pick up to bring you to your destination. Perhaps you would like to chill out for a day or two and then avail of car hire that can be delivered directly to your apt.
