Cottage | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
Loudon Cottage is a romantic Highland holiday retreat. Situated in the historic village of St Catherines on the shores of Loch Fyne, Argyll, this traditional cottage has been beautifully restored and stylishly and comfortably furnished. The cosy sitting room has a lovely open fire. The cottage sleeps four in two bedrooms (one double on the first floor and one small twin on the ground floor), but can be booked with adjacent McHugh Cottage to accommodate larger parties of up to eight.
It's a magical location. The cottage is set in 440 acres of natural woodland, which has heritage status. Behind the cottage is Tom Na Sgeulachd, which is covered in bluebells in the spring. A small burn runs down to the loch below the cottages. If you're after tranquillity and peace then this is the place to come. And it's only six miles from the main A83 trunk road from Glasgow.

The Central Scotland/Strathclyde region
Argyll is everything you would imagine the west coast of Scotland to be – and more, making it the perfect place for your holiday. It's wild and remote, with hills, glens, rugged coast, white beaches, sea lochs, clear waters and ancient forests. Many of our properties are in the Cowal Peninsula, known as Argyll's Secret Coast because of its undiscovered charm. You won't find crowds of tourists here. What you will find is wildlife, tranquillity and stunning scenery. With all this on offer, your Argyll holiday will be one to remember.
Argyll is packed with places to visit and things to do. Sailors, walkers, cyclists and artists are all drawn to this area for its natural beauty. You'll find plenty of restaurants and pubs serving up locally sourced food, including Loch Fyne's world-famous seafood. And, of course, there's a great range of holiday accommodation, from contemporary apartments to traditional cottages.
Strachur is a lovely village on the north east shore of Loch Fyne, Argyll. There's plenty to see and do here. Play tennis, fish or boat on the loch, visit Glensluain Pottery, look around the Smiddy Museum or enjoy something to eat in the pubs and cafes. The world-famous Loch Fyne Oyster Bar is just down the road. There are loads of forest trails nearby to go walking or mountain biking and you might even find a ceilidh is on at the village hall. Strachur is well placed for exploring Argyll. Drive to Tighnabruaich via the scenic Kyles of Bute or visit Inveraray with its fairytale castle, bell tower and jail museum.
