"Wow - Great place to get together with friends and family!"
We were a group of friends with two little ones 6 & 2yrs getting together to celebrate my 40th birthday. I'm so glad we agreed on The Old Oak Barn, it was perfect. I was welcomed with bubbly, chops and a card (most thoughtful) Each night each couple took turns in cooking which was no problem with the size of the kitchen and all the equipment you needed. We didn't get under each other's feet as the property is quite large, especially with each bedroom having its own en-suite and the boys loved the open lounge/dining area where they could have a run around or play with their cars without disturbing others. It is quite a few miles from anywhere, there isn't a pub you can walk to, but if you don't mind a drive out Stowmarket and Diss are nice, major supermarkets are here and the unspoilt seaside town of Southwold is definately worth a visit. Overall there were no real complaints about the property but a couple of suggestions firstly the sky lights in the bedrooms could really do with covering, it wasn't too bad in winter cause of the dark mornings, summer would be ok as long as your not one to lie in, it was very bright when the sun did come up, secondly a tumble dryer would be a good idea especially for the winter stays. I could not recommend this property enough if you are a family or group of friends reuniting, Great area for partying and dining!
Hi - thanks a lot for the positive comments about the barn and your suggestion about the skylights - I have now fitted blackout blinds to all the skylights so 'light' sleepers will be able to enjoy a good nights sleep. The nearest pub is 3.5 miles from the barn, either in Debenham or Thorndon - I have walked it before during the day and it takes a little over 1 hour. Alternatively, it is great to get out on bikes as there is very little traffic or there are some local taxi companies in the info file in the barn. Another trick I do myself, is drive to the pub in the evening, and collect the car(s) the next day using somebody else's. With 10 guests at the barn, there are usually 3 or 4 cars amongst the party. This also gives you the added advantage of going to other beautiful pubs in the area a little further away. The closest supermarket is also only 3.5 miles away in Debenham along with a butchers, bakers etc. This information is also in the info pack at the barn. Thank you for your stay and I hope you'll return to Old Oak Barn someday.

"Magnificent barn furnished to a very high standard."
We are a family of 9, ages from 5 to 70 and this is our second visit to this property. We all wholeheartedly recommend the barn, the owners were on hand and very helpful in sorting any minor problems that we had ie when we could not get the Wi Fi to work. There was lots to do for all of us whether it was riding on the local steam train, taking brisk early morning walks in the beautiful countryside and meeting the locals, eating at local hostelries and visiting the coastal towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh not to mention the many historical villages thereabouts, and for the birders there is of course the not to be missed Minsmere. ENJOY

"Great place to get together and relax"
The barn is a beautifully restored property in a very quiet area of Suffolk but still easily accessible form London. The owner has spared no expense in making it a great place to get together with friends and family. It has been finished to a great standard with a good size kitchen and a big open entertaining area. The bedrooms are all finished well and en suite. The outside area is perfect for BBQs. Great time had by all.

"Stunning, luxurious accommodation in tranquil surroundings."
Simply stunning accommodation, extremely homely feel with all modern facilities. Kitchen is very well equipped and has a beautiful range oven. Large log burner in the lounge area and fantastic Sonos sound system which has influenced us to buy one!!
