Shops and bakeries selling a range of locally produced goods are in abundance and local farmers markets can regularly be found in Stow, Moreton-in-Marsh and Bourton-on-the-Water.

Within a short drive from the cottage you can explore the picturesque towns and villages of Chipping Norton, The Slaughters, Chipping Campden and Burford. There are many attractions in the local area, including Snowshill Manor and Lavender Farm, Sudeley Castle, the Cotswold Farm Park and Batsford Arboretum. Walking and cycling enthusiasts will find Stow-on-the-Wold an ideal base as many pathways run through the town. Shakespeare's Stratford-Upon-Avon is a little further afield, but well worth a visit.

Please note that for one week in October and one week in May each year many of the amenities and pubs in Stow-on-the-Wold shut due to the Gypsy Horse Fair. If your chosen dates fall in either of these months, please feel free to call to discuss.

"Great cottage, great location, home from home and you can bring your dogs."

We have been to Carters cottage 3 times now in the summer and winter and love it. A beautiful cottage, excellent location to walk into Stow, you can just park the car and forget about it. We have taken our 2 dogs and our friend bought theirs, the garden although small is very secure and there are some great walks on the doorstep, 5 minutes and you are in the country side. What surprises you is the silence despite being in the middle of a town. Stow is busy in the day but at night is quiet with some fantastic pubs and eateries.
The cottage is well presented, everything you need and some thoughtful little touches like wine, chocolates, wellies and coats if you have forgotten yours!
We will definitely be back again
