"Superb - didn't want to leave"
I booked Kelross Retreat for myself and my husband for our honeymoon. The accommodation was welcoming, cosy and extremely comfortable. The owner knew we where honeymooning and added some lovely touches such as rose petals on the bed!! The cottage is tucked away off the main street so the garden provided a lovely space to eat and relax in the evenings. Parking was always available in the courtyard and the town was just a pleasant, short walk from the cottage. We found lots of nice places to eat with great live music on in the evenings in several pubs. Overall a fantastic stay - wish it was for longer!

"Good location which promised much, but the bed let it down!"
Overall Kelross Retreat was disappointing. It was the third cottage we stayed in on our three week holiday in the UK. It was the most expensive of the three cottages and the only one we were disappointed with. We thought it needed a refurbish. It was difficult to have a shower without wetting the floor and the bed/s was too soft and sagged. The cottage had all we needed in terms of a place to stay for a week, but we found it quite cluttered. The second bedroom is this size of a closet!
Stow on the Wold is a nice little village to stay in if you want to explore the area. For the price we paid you may find better.

"Home from home"
We found this cottage to be fitted out to a high standard. We did not experience any problems with either a noisy toilet or any problem with the smoke alarm. Ideal position for exploring the cotswolds, where there are many good pubs and eating houses. Definately one eaterie to be avoided at all costs is called 'The Butchers' this is fake bistro type of establishment, that is not only dreadful quality but outrageously expensive. There is an excellent coffee and snack shop in the square in the centre of Stow on the Wold called 'Huffkins'. But back to 'Kellross' where the owner seems to of gone that little bit further to make you feel at home. Definately will love to stay again.

"I will not recomment it"
At first, this is a lovely property but we will not recommend this house to anyone else. Because:the poor smoke alarm that went off without smoke and is hanging loose from the ceiling;the toilet make… More
I am very disappointed to read your review. Firstly you arrived at the cottage early when the housekeeper was still setting it up for you, hence she let you in the key code is actually on your receipt, I never received any calls from you. The smoke alarm is very sensitive which I feel is a excellent health and safety issue, it is hard wired into the mains. You contacted me at 8.30pm on a sunday night to inform me the toilet was making a noise, I explained I could not get a plumber to the property till the morning but would arrange for the housekeeper to go round immediately with her partner to resolve the problem which they did. I am very sorry you did not enjoy your vacation at kelorss
