Accommodation in detail
Private parking for 2 cars. Spacious entrance hall leading to the open plan living / dining room with fantastic views through large picture windows. Luxurious leather sofas on polished floors, open fire and access to the conservatory. The kitchen is attractive and well equipped, with access to the garden. An inner hallway leads to 2 double bedrooms (one en-suite), a single bedroom and the house bathroom. A 2nd en-suite single bedroom is accessed externally, with a private patio. The well-kept gardens include an enclosed patio and sun terrace.
On the eastern shores of Lake Windermere and close to Windermere Golf Club, Bowness is a vibrant Lake District village with a wealth of attractions and appeal for all ages. The village has a contemporary shopping street, with supermarkets, delicatessens and everything you could need during a self-catering holiday in the Lake District.
There are many family attractions in Bowness. From the famous 'World of Beatrix Potter Attraction', to row boats in the bay and mini-golf on the 'Glebe', you'll never be short of things to do with the kids. Windermere Lake Cruises also depart regularly from Bowness Pier to Ambleside and Lakeside - a great way to explore without taking the car. Lakeside is well worth a visit for families, as you'll find both the Lakes Aquarium and Lakeside & Haverthwaite historic railway to entertain you there.
Bowness is probably the Lake District's liveliest spot for evenings out, and there are plenty of options for eating out in Bowness. For a stylish dining try The Postilion Restaurant or take your pick from a number of traditional Lakeland pubs serving real ale and hearty pub food.

The Heart of England/Peak District
The Lake District is a place like no other. No other region in the world is so packed with such varied and stunning scenery in such as small area– and it's all on your doorstep with easy access by car or rail. The choice of outdoor activities is endless with some of the best walks, climbs and bike rides in the world, beautiful lakes for sailing, canoeing, windsurfing or just a cruise one of several ferry services. The National Park itself encompasses soaring mountains, native woodland (you might see a red squirrel!), lush meadows and of course the many famous lakes themselves. Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter, Ruskin and many more have been inspired by the Lake District and made their homes here. The homes are still here and open to visit and they too are surrounded by majestic mountain panoramas. There also some surprises – kids will love attractions such as the giant i-max screen at Rheged Visitor Centre, Go Ape aerial activities in Grizedale Forest and The World of Beatrix Potter in Bowness. And where better to stay than a classic Lakeland Cottage. Lakelovers have over 400 properties in prime locations within the heart of the Lakes and we specialise in hand-picked properties that we know you'll love. Whether you want a grand property for a family gathering or a cosy bolt hole for two we can't wait to show you what we have for you to choose from. We know The Lakes inside out and we are just a click of a mouse or a phone call away.
