The Peak district needs no introduction and the cottage gives access to the Staffordshire Moorlands and the vast area of the Peak District National Park. Here all the riches of the Peak district can be explored including the towns of Buxton with its victorian heritage, boasting the largest single structure dome in the world and Castleton, a quaint village with pubs, restaurants and shops selling Blue John, the famous Blue John Mine and Speedwell Cavern or Bakewell a little further afield, a bustling town and home of the Bakewell Puding. Numerous activities are available including walking, cycling, golf, theatre and pony trekking.

Stoke-on-Trent

A short drive from the cottage lies the historic market town of Leek, with supermarkets, restaurants and pubs and its famous market every Wednesday and Saturday.

For those enjoying the wonderful history of the potteries look no further than Stoke on Trent with several heritage museums showcasing distinctive hand crafted pottery including the Wedgwood and Moorcroft visitor centres and museums. Alternatively explore the numerous pottery factory shops including Spode, Stafford and Royal Doulton. Nearby Trentham Estate offers beautiful gardens, monkey forest with 140 free roaming Barbary macaques, activities and shopping village.

Not forgetting a host of leisure activities including the Alton Towers Theme Park, Go Ape, Gullivers Kingdom, Churnet Valley Railway and the Heights of Abraham to mention but a few.
