The English Riviera

Follow the coastal path round the bay and you will reach Paignton, with its long sandy beach, pier, attractions and harbour all close together it’s perfect for the family, and Brixham, a beautiful working fishing village with a lively atmosphere and character that will not disappoint.
Stoke Gabriel area
Stoke Gabriel is a peaceful village situated on a creek of the River Dart. From the village centre you can walk down to the creek where you will find a Mill Pond and quay on the river just perfect for fishing, sailing, relaxing, feeding the ducks and swans and for the children to go crabbing. There is a small Bistro on the rivers edge (River Shack) where you can sample some of Devons Ice cream or even enjoy an evening meal of local caught fish.
There are many walks along the riverbank which will eventually take you back into the village where you can stop an enjoy the local atmosphere at one of the two traditional village pubs. There is also a local convenience store with fresh fruit and veg, a post office, parish church and a tea shop.
Close by are the livelier towns of Torbay including Brixham, Pagnton and Torquay, and in the other direction the beautiful South Hams including Totnes, Dartmouth and Bigbury-on-Sea. There are many activities and attractions in the area including the Sharpham Vineyard and Creamery, Dartmouth Castle, Paignton Zoo and Living Coasts Zoo however a boat trip along the River Dart is a must.
Beautiful golden beaches are also just a short drive away many are family friendly and have been awarded the Blue Flag.
