Marshfield is a spacious oak clad cottage set in beautiful Hampshire countryside only a short walk from the historic centre of Stockbridge. It has a large open plan living room, modern fitted kitchen, double bedroom and wetroom. Eco friendly insulation levels keep it cool in the summer and in winter there is cosy underfloor heating throughout. There is ample off-street parking and a sun deck if you just want to relax and take in the view.

Set in the heart of the Hampshire countryside, Stockbridge is a haven for walkers, cyclists and those who prefer just to take it easy in beautiful surroundings. Anglers have the world-renowned river Test running through the town. Beside the river is the Test Way, a flat and easy walk and cycle path along the route of the disused Spratt and Winkle railway line. Or for those wanting far reaching views there are the nearby Iron Age forts at Danebury and Stockbridge Down. There is also the picturesque Common behind the High Street with its riverside walk. The New Forest and the sunny South Coast are less than an hour away by car.

Stockbridge High Street was voted as the best Foodie Street in Britain in the Google Street View Awards. The wide High Street, has many independent specialist shops selling anything from gifts to fashion to gardening and kitchenware. There is a supermarket, delicatessen, wine shop, and several tea-rooms, restaurants and pubs to suit all tastes.

The Central Southern England region

Stockbridge lies on a world famous trout stream, the River Test at the heart of the Test Valley. The beautiful rolling hills and woodland of the Hampshire countryside here lies midway between the two historic Cathedral cities of Winchester and Salisbury. There are limitless opportunities for sight-seeing with the ancient bronze-age stone circles at Stonehenge and Avebury and the wooden circle of Woodhenge within 40 minutes to the North West. To the south is the beautiful unspoilt National Park, the New Forest and a short drive beyond that the sandy beaches of the sunny south coast.

"Space and Stars!"

Marshfield is a great holiday home with huge amount of space in the main living room and bedroom - our spaniel loved the space. Plenty of gravelled area inside the gates for parking etc, and a sloping area of grass with very sunny raised deck, great for coffee, drinks, cigars.... Fantastic clear skies at night, watching the stars from the deck, better than ever. Marshfield is about 10-15 minutes walk into Stockbridge (no pavement for about half of this), a great little town for mooching around for a while. Up the main Winchester road out of the town, in woods. Some road noise but only at the busy time of the day, really quite the rest of the time.

Smallish kitchen, but had all that we needed, good quality appliances (inc. washing machine), and great shower room upstairs.

Friendly owners live next door property, and greeted us with keys on arrival - thanks!

"Beautiful holiday home"

Stayed at Marshfield for a long weekend. Had a few problems finding it initially - Tom Tom took us to another house named Copperfield, but rang the owner and it was soon sorted. Everything we needed… More

"A great location and very friendly property"

The property was exactly as featured in the pictures. It is excellently located for Stockbridge, which is a fantastic village for shopping and eating. The property was clean, warm and comfortable.
