The Old Mill which was in operation producing Tartan until 1980, is situated opposite open parkland which can be accessed across the nearby 'Fairy Bridge'. It is within walking distance of the shops and railway station and has excellent road and rail links to Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Perth.

The beautiful surrounding countryside provides opportunities for walking, cycling and sightseeing being on the edge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and close to Stirling with its magnificent Castle and Wallace Monument historic buildings.

The main bedroom has a double bed and full length mirrored wardrobes . Hair-dryer is provided. The bedroom overlooks the private courtyard garden.


There is also a new bathroom suite with walk-in shower.

Kitchen is fully equipped with fridge/freezer, washer, microwave oven, cooker with extractor hood, radio/CD player, toaster, iron and ironing board. Place settings for 4 people, pots and pans etc.

The living room has a comfortable leather sofa and flat screen TV with Freeview channels & DVD.

The Stirlingshire region

We are ‘at the heart of golf in Scotland’ with 50 courses being within 50 minutes drive of the apartment. Stirling and Falkirk area is a distinctive golfing region in itself and offers a superb variety of venues.

The best course in the area is Glenbervie, where several amateur championships are held. Of course other very famous courses – notably Gleneagles and St. Andrews, are 20 minutes and 50 minutes away by road respectively.

Sir William Wallace - immortalized by the Scottish movie 'Braveheart' - defeated the English at Stirling Bridge in 1297, only to be later captured and executed by King Edward. A tour to many of the places connected with ‘Braveheart’ would probably start with a trip to the pretty town of Linlithgow, with it’s Palace ruins overlooking a lovely lake. A guided tour of Stirling Castle is the next treat. The castle overlooks the ancient town of Stirling as well as Bannockburn, the battlefield where in 1314 Robert the Bruce defeated the English.

An extended stop here will allow a leisurely visit to explore the castle and to marvel at the views from the castle ramparts. Your scenic drive continues through the village of Doune, with its 14th century castle, to Callander, a scenic tourist town serving as gateway to the Trossachs - a wonderful area of lochs and wild mountain vistas.


Whether you're interested in game fishing, coarse fishing or mountain biking, you're bound to find a location in this unspoiled area to suit you. Here, where the Highlands meet the Lowlands, you’ll find walks to suit everyone. Water-sports are available throughout the area with the shores and lochs appealing to canoeists, windsurfers, divers and sailing enthusiasts alike. The area is one of Scotland's richest in terms of wildlife.

Horse riding - there are locations and terrain to suit all riders from beginners to the more experienced rider. For cyclists there is something to suit every one from gentle routes to suit family groups to challenging terrain for the serious cyclist. There's a tremendous variety of activity operators in the area to help you in trying your hand at a wide range of outdoor activity.

"first class"

we had a fantastic holiday staying at the mill. apartment was situated on the river, town was 5 minutes walk over the bridge along the river. absolutely beautiful. also 5 mins walk to the station. trains run regulary to edin and glasgow. recommended. pool was very good. all facilities for the pool. the apartment was a very high standard. everything had been thought of. very comfy, clean and welcoming. will definately stay here again. we even enjoyed the rain!! parking available at all times.highly recommended.
