Haverstock is a self catering detatched sandstone villa in the Victorian Spa town of Bridge of Allan, awarded Best Small Town in Scotland 2010, 2011 and runner up in 2012.

With excellent cooking and dining facilities, modern heating system with continuous hot water, underfloor heating in kitchen and family room, as well as plenty of living space, Haverstock is ideal for family holidays or special celebrations with friends.

Many restaurants, bars and shops within 10 minute walk as well as the train station with direct access to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Perth. Stirling City center is 3 miles away, frequent bus and train services, Haverstock is an exceptional place from which to explore Scotland : Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and many of the castles, monuments and attractions of Scotland are on your doorstep. You can explore by walking, cycling, car or train.

The property comprises large entrance hall, Sitting room with wood burner, 42 inch plasma TV and DVD player, Dining room with table for 8 and leather seats, downstairs cloakroom, large shower room complete with shower, toilet, modern vanity unit , tiled floor and walls, open plan kitchen with 4 oven Aga, induction hob, electric oven, microwave, wine fridge, dishwasher, island with two bar stools and fridge freezer with water and ice. This leads through to a casual dining area with seating for 8 , bifold doors to garden and Family area with 40 inch smart TV, Bifold doors to garden and underfloor heating. Utility room with washing machine and sink plus an additional Cloakroom WC on the ground floor.

Large first floor Drawing Room with views to Stirling Castle, large comfortable sofas and sofa bed. Luxurious main Bathroom with large bath, large walk in drench shower, toilet, tiled floor and walls.

There are 4 bedrooms: Master with Superking bed with Dressing room, Double with kingsize bed and two twin rooms with single beds.

This property can sleep up to 10 people as there is use of a sofa bed in the sitting room.

The large,enclosed private garden with patio areas for outdoor dining is an ideal spot to sit outside and relax with a glass of wine after a hard days' sightseeing..

Haverstock is situated in the small town of Bridge of Allan,awarded Best Small Town in Scotland 2010, 2011 and runner up 2012. This historic Spa Town is a short distance from Stirling City Centre and offers everything you could wish for. Not only is Bridge of Allan a picturesque town surrounded by some of Scotland's most breath taking scenery, with the Ochil Hills as a backdrop, it is also considered to be the home of Academic Excellence.

A walk through the beautiful University of Stirling Campus leads you to the foot of the Wallace Monument, where you can enjoy a coffee before your start your ascent. The university has excellent sports facilities and the MacRobert Art Centre.

Bridge of Allan is a perfect location to enjoy the historic attractions that Stirling has to offer. With its restaurants, cafes, boutiques and individual shops, Bridge of Allan has something for everyone. The famous Gleneagles Resort is a 15 mile drive away and within an hour you can be in St Andrews, the home of golf.

Stirling City centre, which is only a twenty minute walk or five minute car journey away, is also a wonderful place for tourists to explore; it has all the modern amenities which any tourist would expect in a busy city centre, but it also has the traditional aspects which the 'Key City of Scotland' should have. Considered to be the 'Key to Scotland' in medieval times, the City of Stirling - with it's magnificent Castle and ramparts - is any tourists dream if they want to embrace Scottish Culture. The famous Wallace Monument is a short drive from Haverstock, as is the rugged Dumyat Hill.

Other facilities available in the area include golf clubs, fishing, horse riding and Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.

Many thanks for taking the time to review Haverstock after your recent stay.
Regarding the issue re linen and towels for the sofa bed; I can only apologise for this oversight on our behalf. Usually if a guest requires a guest bed this is a 'tick box 'option done so by the guest on booking. As this box wasn't ticked it was not obvious to us on first glance however this is not an excuse for us not providing the bedding etc. It should have been apparent that this was needed from the number of people indicated in your booking. We could have easily provided this if you had contacted us and I hope that this not have a detrimental effect on your weekend.

There are 2 sofa beds in the property and the one we always offer guests the use of is the new one in the family area as opposed to the one you used in the Drawing Room. This sofa bed has been in place in the property for a while however it is totally functional despite its rather dated cover compared to the rest of the furnishings.
I appreciate your comments re the possibility of creating another bedroom as opposed to having 4 public rooms however we want to ensure that all guests have maximum use of the 2 bathrooms and 1 WC and feel that creating another bedroom, therefore making this property able to sleep 10 rather than 8 + 2 , would not give guests the best use of the bathrooms.
The built in speakers in the kitchen/lounge area have been temporarily disabled as they were proving to be slightly problematic for guests to use; the provision of the docking station in this area should have hopefully eradicated this. I have taken on board your comments however and will ensure that this is made clear in the information folder in the house.
I am glad that you enjoyed your stay at Haverstock despite the oversight of the 9th guest and hope to see you again sometime soon.
