The Central Scotland/Strathclyde region

Stirling is in Central Scotland and is known as the Gateway to the Highlands. It is within easy driving distance of Edinburgh, Glasgow and St Andrews. A short drive to Loch Lomond National Park and the Trossachs. It is surrounded by mountains and beautiful countryside. Stirling is an impressive compact city and towering above it on a crag is Stirling Castle with views to the Wallace monument.

Cambusbarron is a small village just a mile from the centre of Stirling. It has all the local facilities you would expect from a great village. Forresters, the village pub, is full of character and serves excellent food at weekends. There is a top class butcher, paper shop, grocery, post office, and excellent play park and paddling pool for children. Behind Cambusbarron is Gillies hill which has a network of foot paths for walking and enjoying the amazing views to Stirling Castle. Nearby is North End trout fisheries, Blair Drummond Safari Park, the site of the Battle of Bannockburn, and Kings Park.

"Cosy accommodation in an ideal situation"

This house suited us as we wished to explore the central area of Scotland. As the house is in a suburb of Stirling we had extremely easy access to major roads without going through the city. The house is extremely well equipped although we did not cook often. There is a very pleasant restaurant, with good menu, within 5 mins drive. The heating system and hot water supply is excellent and we always came home to a very cosy house...a bonus during a chilly spell of weather. This is a neat house....looks small from outside, but perfectly adequate for a family of four. The bedrooms are bright (lovely view from front bedroom) with good storage space. It is very handy to be able to park in the driveway at the house. We enjoyed walks in the local area also and found plenty of helpful information leaflets in the house.

"Great Location"

We had a very comfortable stay for 1 week with my parents. Lovely locations, close driving proximity to nearby attractions. The house had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. Highly recommended.

"Fabulous house - great location"

We stayed in the house for a week with our 14 month old daughter and had a fantastic week. The house was very confortable with absolutley everything you could have needed. Lovely to find a house that caters fully for a little one - nice not to have to take bedding for the cot and nice touches like a baby towel left out for her!

The village of Cambusbarron was an ideal location - only a fews minutes from Stilring and less then an hour to Edinburgh zoo and Loch Lomond etc. Would definitely recommend and I am sure we will be back in the future.
