The Central Scotland/Strathclyde region
Bannockburn does not stand alone as an area of historical importance ; other areas of historic interest are on the doorstep: just a five minute's drive away to the charming village and local pubs of Cambusbarron and five minutes in the opposite direction for Cambuskenneth and its famous Abbey. Wallace’s Monument is a 10 min drive; on the way, stop off and visit the Old Stirling Bridge or the site of the famous Battle of Bannockburn.
The surrounding countryside is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts: walking, cycling and paragliding are all on offer on the nearby Ochil Hills. Slightly further away are The Trossachs, Callander, Loch Lomond National Park, Glasgow and Edinburgh providing, therefore, the ideal central touring base for your holiday.
Milton Hayloft is at the very heart of Braveheart country; a two minute walk to the historical Bannockburn Heritage Centre and only 5 minutes by car to all the attractions within the historic City: the magnificent Castle and rich Scottish heritage centre, the Old City Jail, the Tollbooth, a modern shopping centre, small quaint arcades and several supermarkets.
There are also a good selection of pubs, restaurants and other [places to eat near the property . Nick Nairn’s famous cookery school is also a mere 20 minute drive away in nearby Port of Menteith.
Golf being available at every turn: in the city, Kings Park’s own course and at least another five within Falkirk district, a 15 minute drive away. Slightly further afield are the world famous Gleneagles and St Andrew’s Old Course.
Transport within the area offers excellent links to all areas; Edinburgh and Glasgow (airports) are within one hour’s drive. Stirling also has a good bus/rail network and motorways heading both North, further through Scotland, and South towards England and Wales.

"Nice house, good location"

Hi. Many thanks for taking the time to post a review after your recent stay at Milton Hayloft.
I am glad that you find the property cosy, comfortable and appreciated the luxury of a TV in each bedroom.
Guests' comfort and overall satisfaction at all of our properties is something we pride ourselves on and constantly maintain.
I apologise if you felt the wording in the Welcome Folder '...We would be grateful if you could strip all beds that have been used during your stay of all fitted sheets, pillow slips and duvet covers...' to be too direct in its intent however in order to ensure the cleaners have enough time to thoroughly clean and prepare the property for the next guests this is something we find helpful; not all guests are seasoned self caterers therefore a polite request is often required.
Regarding the return of the security deposit- the wording on all our documentation pertaining to the return of this states 'returned after departure' not 'on departure'. It is impossible to return on the day of departure as we have to await the relevant paperwork from the cleaners and laundry to ensure that everything is as it should be.
This money is then refunded onto the card used for payment. Depending on departure day, this refund can sometimes take up to 5 days to be processed.
Once again, thank you for taking the time to post a review and I hope that you will choose one of our properties again in the future.
