The Central Scotland/Strathclyde region
Stirling does not stand alone;the local area abounds with historic sites and places of interest. other areas of historic interest are on the doorstep: just a five minute's walk away to the charming village of Blairlogie . Wallace’s Monument is a 2 min drive; on the way, stop off and visit the Old Stirling Bridge or the site of the famous Battle of Bannockburn. Stirling Castle, The Old Town Jail and Argyll's Lodging are all within easy reach of Redcarr Lodge.
The surrounding countryside is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts: walking, cycling and paragliding are all on offer on the nearby Ochil Hills. Slightly further away are The Trossachs, Callander, Loch Lomond National Park, Glasgow and Edinburgh providing, therefore, the ideal central touring base for your holiday.
Redcarr Lodge is an ideal base for walkers, situated at the foot of Dumyat Hill with wonderful walks right on the doorstep.
The lodge is also a convenient base for golfers - the world-class courses at St Andrews and Gleneagles are within easy driving distance. The cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh are a mere 40 minutes drive away.
Redcarr Lodge is only a few minutes away from the heart of Stirling City centre: the magnificent Castle and rich Scottish heritage centre, the Old City Jail, the Tollbooth, a modern shopping centre, small quaint arcades and several supermarkets.
The historical Bannockburn Heritage Centre is only a 20-minute drive and there is also a good selection of both modern and traditional pubs and restaurants in the area. Nick Nairn’s famous cookery school is also a mere 40 minute drive away in nearby Port of Menteith.
Golf being available at every turn: Kings Park’s own course and at least another five within Falkirk district, a 15 min drive away. Slightly further afield are the world famous Gleneagles and St Andrew’s Old Course.
Transport within the area offers excellent links to all areas; Edinburgh and Glasgow (airports) are within one hour’s drive. Stirling also has a good bus/rail network and motorways heading both North, further through Scotland, and South towards England and Wales.

Many thanks for your review. Although the property is adjacent to the road it is by no means an extremely busy or noisy road as the new by-pass has taken away most of the traffic. The property is also double glazed so any noise from traffic is at a minimum.
With regards to the key collection- I appreciate that there was some confusion on your arrival however the owner is aware of this and new , clearer procedures have been put in place to eliminate the risk of any confusion arising in the future.
