The Sardinia region
Sardinia’s north west coast shelters the most attractive seaside resorts on the island, interspersed with some really spectacular coastline – from dramatic rugged cliffs to dazzling sandy beaches. Alghero is justifaybly the most popular resort town in this area, with a distinctive Catalan character, quaint narrow streets and a charming harbour-front. With Castelsardo, further to the North another attractive old town, topped by a Medieval castle with spectacular views.
Inland from the sweeping cliffs and white sand bays of the coast, the north west of Sardinia is characterised by gentle rolling hills and vineyards; and outside of the bustle of Alghero the region has a very peaceful feel. In a typical day you can relax on a secluded beach, take a stroll in the macchia-scented hills and in the evening enjoy a wonderful Sardinian meal.
The Stintino / Tanca Manna area
Stintino is a small fishing village on the north-west peninsula of Sardinia. The village has 2 ports of – Portu Mannu and Portu Minori: one mainly for the fishing boats and the other for pleasure craft.
You can book and take boat trips from here to the uninhabited Isola Asinara to the north, which is home to albino donkeys.
It is surrounded by beautiful beaches: La Pelosa to the north and La Saline to the south.
It is famous for it's annual Tuna Festival in June.

My trip to Stintino is definitely unforgettable for many reasons; the beauty and calmness of the city, its relaxed pace and the friendliness of its people. Casa dei pini was where I stayed in Stintino and it is quite a cute apartment, clean and well equipped - But what made this stay really remarkable was the helpfulness and hospitality of Mr. Alfredo Sconzo, the property manager. Reservation was easy and fast and he arranged for transportation from the airport. Our plane was several hours late and on arriving at Casa dei pini, I found that he had brought a generous supply of groceries for our supper and breakfast the following morning and there was even a plate of fruits and a bottle of wine on the table. Had I been going to a friends' house, it wouldn't have been any better. His helpfulness and rapid response to any issue were both, impressive and professional. The house itself is nice and in an excellent location that's close to any place one may want to get to in Stintino. Supermarket, bus stop, city centre, marinas are all at a walking distance from the house. |

Great contact with the owner made booking process very easy. He also helped us with airport transfer directly to Casa Dei Pinia and gave us a quick tour around Stintino. The apartment is located 10-15 min walk from centre of Stintino. There is plenty of parking space. The building itself could do with a few touches on facade. The apartment is very cosy. Supplied with everything you may need (all kitchenware, appliances, iron, TV etc.). Great view from the living room balcony makes it perfect place for breakfast. Apartment offers 2 double bedrooms and additional bed in living room what makes it perfect for group of 5. The Owner speaks fluent English and is very helpful. He offers a yacht cruise with dinner which is definitely must-go! I would definitely recommend Casa Dei Pini! |
