Dormer Cottage is a 17th century brick and timber detached cottage typical of this part of Buckinghamshire. It is a listed building and situated in the centre of Stewkley. The cottage provides self catering accommodation for four people.
On the ground floor the accommodation is a sitting room (including a television and radio/cassette player) with dining area, a kitchen (with fridge, cooker, microwave & telephone) with a breakfast bar and a laundry room (washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer, iron, vacuum cleaner).
On the first floor is a landing leading to two bedrooms and a bathroom with bath and shower. The cottage sleeps four and each of the bedrooms can be provided with either a double bed or two single beds as required.
There is central heating throughout the cottage and there is also an inglenook with an open fire in the beamed sitting room. The cottage is fully furnished to a high standard, including a piano and is well equipped throughout.
The garden is secluded and there is parking for two cars and a secure garden shed for bicycles.
Stewkley is an historic village on the edge of the Vale of Aylesbury. Many interesting buildings line the High Street and at the centre of the village is the fine Norman church. There are 2 pubs and a delicatessen in the village. There are many footpaths in the surrounding countryside for those who enjoy a quiet ramble.
Within a twenty minute drive are local towns of Leighton Buzzard and Aylesbury, as well as the new city of Milton Keynes, where a wide range of shops and leisure activities can be found. The nearest railway stations and coach stations can be found in these towns.
