Magnificent double storey house situated in the beautiful Stellenbosch winelands. We are situated in what is called the 'golden triangle',renowned for its views and excellent wines! Very central to old traditional Stellenbosch town (approx 10km) as well as the larger more modern Somerset Mall, a huge shopping centre with cinemas etc... approx 10km). Close drive to several beaches and golf courses as well. Surrounded by world class vineyardsa nd restaurants. The property has 6 double bedrooms, the main having his and hers bathroom - the rest being en suite except that 2 of them share a bathroom. It was completely renovated 18 months ago and has been finished to the highest standards. It would be fully staffed by our estate manager and his wife. The swimming pool is very large and the landscaped garden is full of ancient oak trees. You can happily enjoy walks around the whole property, even enjoying a picnic in our own indigenous forest next to the river. It has a beautiful large lounge (approx 70m) leading out onto a patio with glorious views of False Bay, Robben Island and the Cape...that carry on forever. Downstairs you will also find a large playroom (or second lounge), plus dining room open plan to a beautiful kitchen.

The Western Cape region
Cape Town is a mere 25min drive from our property. The climate is much the same as Stellenbosch except Stellenbosch is slightly hotter in summer and cooler in winter. Cape Town offers beaches, several golf courses, world renowned waterfront, restaurants and also the Constantia wine routes. If you Google Cape Town, you will probably get more information that I can tell you. I was born in Cape town and moved out to Stellenbosch 2 years ago, so I know about the beauty of both areas and the ease of travelling between the two as well. I am completely in love with Stellenbosch as it is just so gorgeous in every way, the shops, the people, the pavement cafes, the old buildings , museums and huge old oak trees....and if one wants a bit of Cape Town, then you can be there in 25min!
Stellenbosch area
Stellenbosch is a town for all seasons - there is always something to see, do, taste, smell and experience. Harvest is in full swing from Feb to April, and you might be lucky to pick your own grapes. During our summer months, one tends to sprawl out beneath the shade of a century old oak tree sipping chilled Sauvignon Blanc. Winter makes room for the delight in trying out our full-bodied proudly South African pinotage, in front of a fireplace in one of the many cosy restaurants. The annual Stellenbosch wine festival takes place during the 1st week of August, with 4 days dedicated to food, wine and fun! Daily wine tasting and sales are offered at our cellars, and many of these have tours, restaurants and picnic facilities. Wine from Stellenbosch has become known for its quality and diversity.
How to get there
Cape Town International Airport is approx 20min drive away. One can hire a car from there or one can organise to be collected by a taxi/ shuttle service.

Further details indoors: Upstairs there is the main bedroom with king size bed and small balcony. It has 2 bathrooms - both finished beautifully in travertine. There is an enclosed upstairs patio with large sliding glass windows which houses a 'mini gym'. There are 2 gym machines plus weights, as well as another tv/dvd and couch. There is also a fireplacein this room as well. Then you have another 3 bedrooms all en suite, one with balcony. Depending on what you require bed wise, we can move beds around to suit your needs (within reason)
Downstairs is the entrance hall, huge kids playroom (or 2nd lounge) with tv, dvd, hi-fi and wi-fi.,with french doors (can be kept shut) leading into the central lounge and also 2 further sets of french doors, one leading to main patio and the other leading onto the pool area. The lounge is approx 70square meters with glass dome in roof. There are 9m wide doors which concertina open completely enabling one to take full advantage of the outdoors, in comfort. There is a weber braai for braaing. The dining leads off the lounge and also has french doors leading onto the patio. It is open plan to a beautiful limewashed oak/ stainless steel kitchen. There is a scullery and laundry off the kitchen. Downstairs was designed to enable one to make the most of the beautiful areas by simply opening all the interleading french doors connecting up all the room with ease. Outside there are 2 further double guest bedrooms sharing a spacious bathroom and opening out onto thier own little private patio.
Further details outdoors: There is plenty of secure parking, excellent security and amazing wine farms and restaurants a stones throw away. This is a well loved and looked after family home which is absolutely immaculate and is a joy to live in! We are accessed by a private road with security which is 2.3km from the nearest public road - hence absolute peace and tranquility !!
There is also a wrap around patio, the main part being in front off the lounge, framed by huge old oak trees, with views you can only dream of !
Watch the mountains turn purple as the sun sets !
There is a very large swimming pool and landscaped gardens. The rest of the property is open for walking and there is an indigenous forest and stream at the bottom of the property as well.
The restaurants , shops, golf courses, beaches and wine farms surrounding us are world class. We are only 25min from Cape Town, 35min from the waterfront, 35min from Franschoek, 1hr from Hermanus - very central for day trips. We also have 2 kayaks available for use if required as well as 3 children's bicycles. We could also negotiate the use of a double cab Toyota which seats 5 people.
Conditions
We would consider a house swap if it appealed to us - ski resort or America (Vale, Aspen etc...) The house would be available to let for the dates shown, starting these December holidays.
We also have another holiday resort called Buttonquail Nature reserve (www.buttonquail.co.za) which is also available for lets or house swaps. It is a professionally run 1600 acre reserve and consists of a luxury tented camp as well as a luxury lodge. This is situated 40min from our Stellenbosch property on the way to Hermanus.
