"Our stay here since June 26th was amazing. We couldn't have asked for better weather, 35°C+ and sunny everyday. There were so many things to do and so much to see. The panoramic view of the sea is absolutely stunning. Great location and delicious BBQ."

"Thank you so much for having us at this house, magnificant stay and enjoyed many things that Ste Maxime has to offer, sure it's a nice change from rain and snow most of the year. Hope to reunite it in the near future."

Keith & Karen, Toronto, Canada (July 2011)

"We very much enjoyed our 2 weeks at l'heure bleue. The views were spectacular especially seeing the yachts going in and out of St Tropez.

The weather has been superb and we have had trips to Verdon Gorges, Monte Carlo & Cannes.

Ste Maxime is a lovely town with much to see and do (try the Tarte Tropezienne )

While of an evening playing cards and enjoying the view we were visited by a couple of large toads, keep an eye out !

Hope to return in the near future!"

The French Riviera - Cote d'Azur region

French Riviera is well known allover the world to benefit from great weather all around the year. The biggest and most popular attractions are the city of Nice and the surrounding small villages in the mountains. Monte Carlo is also very near with its jet-set lifestyle, casinos, great restaurants and lot of animations all over the year. On the West side of the Riviera is the village of Vence: very traditional style with an old tradition for parfume industry.

Ste Maxime is located in a special area with less inhabitants than the crowded Nice area.

It's certainly a great place for hikers, cyclers, sailers, even hunters ...

Ste Maxime is a nice village (around 8000 people) with its daily Food market, beaches, harbour, cafes., restaurants, movies.. It's big enough to have all facilities and still some to offer the best taste of Provence way of life !

The well-known and shiny St Tropez village is at the other side of the gulf. Easy to reach with the shuttle boat from the centre of Ste Maxime (just 20 minutes, ant it works until late at night)

A great choice of golf courses are around the St Tropez Gulf.

"1A / Fantastic Location !"

Our family (6 incl. 4 young children) loved the stay at L'Heure Bleue. Key upside is the location with magnificent views. We have never seen anything like it over the years. Our family hardly went anywhere outside of the house and patio because we liked it so much! We can recommend the house if you enjoy having private space in a very large patio outside of the house and are not fussy in regards to a relatively simple / functional home. If you have high standards in regards to a "designer" home, do not go here as the kitchen and furnishings are not high-end. The focus here is incredible location both in terms of view, privacy, and ability to enjoy the nature / foods outside on the patio. As we did have a minor question or two, the owner was very helpful in lettings us know very quickly per e-mail (fast wlan) how we can solve the questions we had. One additional tip, as the driveway is quite steep & narrow, we only drove up the first day to unload the luggage. Thereafter we parked at the bottom of the driveway to save our nerves.

"The House has very beauty sea view"

The House has very beauty sea view, but facilities and equipment of the house is very outdated and bathroom Unsatisfactory ...… More

In fact both location of the house, quietness and sea view are the key strengths of this villa.
The villa indeed has been built for few décades, and therefore some architectural choices will be done differently today.
Equipments are simple but convenient.

Villa is now only rented for spring & summer periods, as it best suits our guests. They spend most of their time outside, on the terrasse, on sun beds or at the beach (5 minutes walking) , or even in the private garden with a BBQ party around the private swimming pool....

I do not understand the problem regarding bathrooms. Two bathrooms are available. First bathroom is equiped with a bath. The second is attached to one of the room and is equiped with a shower.

I am quite surprised by this review, made 1 year after the letting, by a guest who booked once the villa in 2012, and booked it again in 2013 ??!!
When one is not satisfied, one does not come back to the same place, no?

"Loved L'Heure Bleu"

We came here in Jun 2013 and loved it. Home is in great location which I didnt realize until we were there as i struggled to find something in St Tropez, Cannes etc. Am so glad we stayed in Ste Maxime as it's quieter and covenient. My four kids ages 7-13 loved the pool, ping pong, and land to run around. I enjoyed the views everyday. We really made use of the outdoor space and ate all meals outside. House is in neighborhood that is up winding hill with many beautiful homes. Only downside is that house is cottage like-- with bathrooms, kitchen, electrical a little outdated. For us, we were fine with this since we ate most meals out and spent more time outdoors in the beautiful weather. Would highly recommend!

"Priceless, wonderfull, simply the best"

We are frequent visitors of the cote dázur and have never been in a better place than this. Charming provencial house, authentic in every way like it should be: old but everything works great. The views and the outside terras are outstanding. We like a good lunch and diner with the whole family and this house facilitates it all. Good and well equiped kitchen, bbq and a big outside table. We also had rain and than the inside of the house is comfortable. This house is completely private and close to all important activities like the centre of saint maxime, the beach and st. tropez, although you need a car. This house is built against a mountain and is not for people in a wheelchair. We will certainly come back if the house is still available after this review. TOP!

"Great location/view but tired house and inattentive owner/manager"

Stunning view and charming (but v tired) Provencal cottage but that's it!. We stayed in winter and the house is better suited to summer al fresco living. We were given the wrong access code and h… More

Well, this is a real challenge for a first review !
We keep a "livre d'or" in the house, and you will see that we have never had this kind of bad testimonies, even for people who stay in winter.

Yes, the house is much better suited for spring, summer & autumn vacations.

However, we use it regularly in winter also. When these guests came, the gaztank was full, after not even 3 weeks , the heating system stopped. It took us few days to have a specialist in the house and understand this was simply due to a shortage of gaz. In the meantime, the guests were back to uk for few days, and so we have prefered not authorising the plumber to get in, without the guests.
In fact, we first called the heating specialist, as we were sure the tank was still full.
For sure, it has been very cold last february (minus 18°C), but I still have not any idea how our guests have managed to empty the full tank.

Washmachine has been bought in 2011. A pump had to be changed.

Reactivity: In fact, we do not live in ste Maxime, but we have 3 persons to take care of the house. They all live in 10 minutes distance: the lady who cleans the house and check if everything is allright when guests arrive & leave, the gardener, the person who takes care of the swimming pool (usually every monday).
I communicate my personnal e mail and my mobile phone, also my wife 's mobile phone in order to facilitate all communication.
It usually works very well.

Pictures shown in the ad are pinting the reality. Potential guests have also the possibility to visit the house on-site before they book it.
By the way, That is what these guests have done...
