120 Green Village
About the home
To the right of the house is a beautiful vineyard stretching off into the distant hills; to the left are sunlit mountains, snow-capped in winter; and straight ahead, the sea, which you can see glinting from the upstairs windows. The house is in the wondefully tranquil Green Village complex which is next to Le Roc Golf Course. There are several other golf courses in the area.
A riding school is within walking distance and there are cycle paths down to St. Aygulf and the coast. You can hire a boat and row along the beautiful river Argens just a couple of miles up the road. Taking the scenic route over the little bridge over the Argens, you can be in the fascinating medieval village of Frejus in 10 minutes, where you can explore the Roman ruins.
Roquebrune, equally fascinating, is seven minutes the other way. And less than 15 minutes away is the buzzing coastal town of St Raphael with its myriad restaurants and dazzling nightlife.

You will love the variety and beauty of the area. Forests and valleys, creeks and cliffs at the seaside contrast with the vineyards. Watch the sun set on the dramatic red rocks of Roquebrune. Recommend is the wine-tasting and tour at the neighbouring Domain de Plain.
Short drive to St. Raphael, Frejus, Cannes, St. Maxime, St. Tropez. Many local markets in the surrounding villages. Cycle paths to the beach and Roquebrune sur Argens. Rambling in the surrounding forrests or climbing and hiking in the Blavet gorges.
There are several first class golf clubs in a short radius of the house. It will take you just 2 minutes to walk over to the first tee of Le Roc Golf Club.
The Ste Maxime / Roquebrune sur Argens area
Roquebrune sur Argens dates back to the middle ages. You will love roaming around its cobbled streets and visiting its art galleries, restaurants and bars. Tourists are welcome to take part in the festivals celebrating music dance and history.
These small villages can be quite noisy long into the wee small hours, especially during the festivals. You can then appreciate returing to the calm of the vineyards surrounding Green Village. Situated on the right hand side of the Argens, this old village looks over the whole plain.
Roquebrune spreads all the way to the sea in the southeast (Les Issambres), to the north to the woods of Malvoisin, and to the rocks of Roquebrune in the west. Roquebrune is rich both culturally and architecturally and offers its visitors pleasant and enriching walks.
See the rue des Portiques with its arcades and splendid frames, the trail of the 7 fountains, and admire the flowers - Roquebrune is one of the winners of the French city of flowers competition and proudly sports 4 stars. The countryside, from the banks of the Argens all the way to the tops of the rocks and through the trails of the Bouerie, is a perfect place for hiking. The nearby resort of Issambres offers wild calanques, inlets and beaches.

| Nearest Travel Links | |
| Airport: | Nice: 60 km |
| Railway: | St Raphael: 8 km |
Easyjet and BMI Baby offer several flights daily to Nice, (as do BA and many other airlines). Book early and the fares can be incredibly low. It's a good idea to reserve a hire car on the internet and pick it up at Nice Airport (usually Terminal 2). Budget are the quickest and best. Avoid Europcar - always busy. From there, take the A8 which is right by the airport, and head in the direction of Cannes. Drive for about 35 minutes and get off at junction 37 marked Puget s/Argens, then follow the signs for Roquebrune sur Argens. Take the D7 and go through the lovely medieval village of Roquebrune, continue for a couple of miles until you reach a roundabout and take the third exit. Follow this lead road past the horse riding school and turn left up to the hill, past the golf course, to Green Village. The house is right, through the gates. Journey time around 45 minutes.

Having syayed there on a few occasions, we have come to think of this house as our home from home in the South of France - and what a wonderful area in which to have a home! There is so much to do within a day's drive. The glitz and shops of Cannes and St Tropez, the natural beauty of the Gorges du Verdon - France's equivalent of the Grand Canyon, beautiful hilltop villages, the busy metropolis of Nice, Monaco, the beaches, funfairs etc. The produce at the local markets and at the recently opened farmer's co-operative at the entrance to the development is wonderful - so much so that we enjoy eating in as much as visiting the myriad nearby restaurants. The huse is very comfortable and well equipped and we will often spend a lazy day there. Breakfast on the patio, followed by a couple of hours in the quiet garden and a very short walk to the pool - what could be nicer? |

We are a French family and every summer, since 4 years, we spend our holidays in this quiet villa. You will find all what you need to spend a nice stay. The house is comfortable, well furnished and fully equipped. The swimming pool is a large pool where you can really swim ! The location of Roquebrune is also a real asset. The Green Village is located next to the Golf, in a very natural landscape (vineyards, some grasslands with sheep, the Esterel Massif for panorama...so nice !). You can't believe you are so close to the beach (15 min) with all its activities of the day or night. You stay in a quiet and natural environment and when you want some animations, you go on the coast and have some fun ! (with many apologizes for my bad English…) Response: Thank you Nadine - looking forward to booking you in for your 5th straight year in 2012! |

We had a lovely time in the Roquebrune area although the house was smaller than we had expected and it could have been a bit cosier. It was dusty and the decor was past its best. A lick of paint and some more personal touches would have been appreciated. Response: The house does accumulate a bit of dust when it hasn't been occupied for several months, and this lady was our first guest of 2011. It is usually cleaned to a very high standard before all guests arrive - we have had no complaints in seven years. I will, however, speak to our cleaner to ensure the house is dust-free for our first guests of 2012. It seems odd to describe the house as small yet not cosy! The house is fully detailed on the web site and copious photos are available which give clear indications of room sizes and furnishings. It is certainly not a comment we have ever received before. On the contrary, our guests (most of whom return year in, year out) love the clean, contemporary lines and the fact that every modern convenience is provided. You can't please everyone, I suppose! |
