SAINTE FOY is situated in a sunny south west facing bowl and is a rather unknown, authentic savoyard village, in the east of France, very close to the italian border, about 15k south of Bourg St. Maurice (TGV-station) on the sunny side of the Isère valley. It is sign posted from the hamlet of La Thuile, halfway on the D902, between the very well known Les Arcs and Tignes-Val d'Isère.

LA ROSIERE being situated on a south facing slope has a well deserved reputation for brilliant sunshine and also an excellent snow record - there is often a heavy snowfall at Easter which ensures that the resort often stays open until May. La Rosiere is the only resort in France to offer heli-skiing through its link with La Thuile in Italy. You can be wisked up to the Ruitor Glacier and then start a 2100m vertical descent in the powder snow you've always only dreamed about! We can also organise specialist off-piste guiding and tuition, mountain awereness courses and other mountain sports.

Some guests choose to ski a different resort each day; others choose to ski the world famous Val d'Isère - Tignes circuit without paying world famous resort prices or enduring world famous resort commercialisation! You are ten minutes from the off-piste paradise of Sainte Foy: it's uncrowded and the powder can last untracked for days. It’s also a perfect place for children and beginners as well as for a relaxing ski holiday away from the crowds. You can drive to the Espace Killy in 30 minutes at Tignes Les Brévières and to the Les Arcs area in 20 minutes at Villaroger. Lift Passes: Sainte Foy offers one of the cheapest lift passes in the French Alps. It also allows you a half-price day pass at Val d'Isère, Tignes and Les Arcs and La Rosiere.
Skiing in Ste Foy. Winter at Sainte Foy. Sainte Foy is located in the middle of the great winter sport resorts Tignes, Val d’Isère and Les Arcs. Tignes and Val d’Isère are only a 20 minute drive. The corresponding lift to Les Arcs is only a 10 minute drive. A day skiing in La Rosiere with its connection to the Italian slopes will take 25 minutes by car. The pistes in Sainte Foy have all the possibillities for beginners combined with the great opportunities for the experienced skiers to go off piste. The pistes in Sainte Foy are still quiet without the waiting times for the lifts you experience elsewhere. For the non-skiers in Sainte Foy there are good opportunities for walking, or take the first lift up to the first station and walk down through the prepared track through the woods.
Ski schools and children Ski schools: The ESF ski school is like many other things in Ste Foy: small, friendly and intimate! The instructors in the ESF have a great record of successful teaching of our friends, family and guests. We can also arrange off-piste instruction and guiding. Children: The Chalets sur la Montagne properties are a particularly suitable base for a holiday with children being perfectly placed to ski in probably the most child friendly resort in the world: Ste. Foy! Ski passes for the under 7’s are free. The well equipped crèche takes those over 3 years and can link up with the ski school so that your children can be entertained and cared for from 9AM to 5PM should you so wish. Ste Foy is a resort where parents can ski with the peace of mind that their children are in good hands. There is an exceptionally good state registered child minder who will take the under 3’s who lives 5 minutes drive away from the Chalet or we can arrange for childcare at the Chalet.
Non skiers Non-skiers are well catered for with facilities for cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing, dog-sledding, ice-climbing, ice fishing, ice-skating and swimming nearby. Or why not just relax on the sunny balcony at the Chalet, and leave the strenuous activities to others. Shoppers will enjoy a stroll around the shops and weekly markets at the major resorts.
Skiing in Les Arcs Les Arcs 2000m First-class skiing and easily reached by a lift at the bottom of the valley at Villaroger, 15 minutes away by car. Tignes 2100m Excellent skiing, but the resort can be a bit bleak for those who like trees and ambiance. This is amply provided by the resort of Ste Foy. Ste Foy 1550m The best kept secret in the valley! It offers only three lifts up to 2700m, but magnificent off-piste skiing. The pisted runs are quite challenging too. This as yet unspoilt resort is regarded by some as the mecca for snowboarders. Val D'Isère 1850m 25 minutes away by car and too well known to need describing. Courchevel and the Trois Vallees are also within easy reach.
Skiing in La Rosière La Rosiere, being situated on a south facing slope has a well deserved reputation for brilliant sunshine and also an excellent snow record - there is often a heavy snowfall at Easter which ensures that the resort often stays open until May. La Rosiere 1850m The home resort is 400m above the chalet and takes 15 minutes to reach by car. The skiing is excellent both for beginners and intermediates and for those wishing to make day trips over to La Thuile in the Italian valley of Aosta, there is a draglift over the Little St Bernard Pass.
Skiing in Val d'Isere Probably the most famous ski resort in the world, Val d’Isère has one of the best snow records in Europe, links with Tignes to form ‘L’Espace Killy’ which is 10 miles from end to end. The quality and the quantity of the snow make it a skier’s Mecca and many people won’t even consider skiing anywhere else. The village has gradually become a town with excellent facilities for skier and non-skier alike. There are plenty of shops selling the very latest in ski gear and gadgets. Non-skiing guests or those taking a break from the slopes can browse the extensive range of exclusive shops, or enjoy a wide range of alternative relaxing activities. Unlike many other French ski resorts, Val d’Isère is a proper town, not just a purpose built ski complex. As a result, it has a bustling and lively atmosphere centred on the wide main street that runs the length of the town. It has a weekly market selling mainly clothes, local cheeses and saucissons.
Summer There are numerous walking and mountain bike routes in the area, to suit all levels of ability. In the peak summer months of July and August, many of the ski lifts in the neighbouring resorts of Les Arcs, Val d’Isère and Tignes are open to cyclists and walkers to allow access to the high mountains without the hard work of climbing them! For walkers, we are also very close to the Vanoise National Park with its unique and varied flora and fauna. In addition to walking and mountain biking, there are numerous other activities available within easy reach, including river sports (canoeing, white water rafting, hydro speeding, cannoning), skiing, golf, horse riding, tennis, fishing, bird watching and rock climbing. Cultural interests include the Baroque church trail, the local Vins de Savoie vineyards, concerts in a variety of venues and many local fêtes which take place throughout the summer.
Summer at Ste. Foy Sainte Foy is located at the edge of the Vanoise National Park. Walking and climbing in this area with its beautiful prepred routes is exciting. You will never forget the incredible mountain vieuws you will experience or sighting your first marmot. Anything is possible, from paragliding and white water rafting to rock climbing and fishing. Besides this you can enjoy local festivities, enjoy local wine tasting and local markets. Golf Information: Sainte Foy is a lovely, quiet village in summer, like a spider in the web between several other more crowded places, where all kind of activities can be undertaken or are organised. The neighbours of Sainte Foy, Tignes and Les Arcs, both have their own 18 holes golf course; the famous winter slopes have turned into beautiful greens, which both can be reached in 10-20 minutes by car. Spacious, bright and well-decorated : a harmonious mixture of old wood, stones and high standing, fully equipped kitchen, open fire place and all modern facilities. The view down the Tarentaise valley and slopes is fantastic.
Summer Activities in Val d'Isere Val d'Isere is a beautiful location during the summer with lush green meadows and clear blue skies. There are plenty of activities to take part in, including peaceful mountain walks, mountain biking, climbing, swimming, golf, tennis, archery, paragliding, 4 x 4 driving, quad biking and even some summer skiing on the glaciers that remain snow-covered year round. Many of the lifts remain open so you can access some of the highest peaks in Europe and enjoy the stunning, peaceful scenery of the French Alps at whatever pace suits you.
A drawer filled with information In the left drawer of the cupboard in the living room, there is a lot of information. Many books with, for example, descriptions of walking- and mountainbike routes, tourist’s maps, and folders of things to do and to see in the surroundings and in the larger region. Suggestions for restaurants etc. We are sure you will find at least something that suits you!
Internetsite of Sainte Foy The village of Sainte Foy has its own internet site: It informes you about many things you will like to know about Sainte Foy, about winter- and summer activities, special events, access etc.
