This beautiful and newly converted old stone house is new on the market for 2007. The view from the window is trees and grass and vinyards. Set on three floors it has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (one being a shower room), a large kitchen, separate lounge/TV area and a beautiful ground floor sitting room which can be converted into an extra bedroom. The ground floor has been made "helpful to the disabled" (walk in shower, toilet seat height extension) for those families who may have old or infirm parents and would like the opportunity of sharing a quiet holiday as a family. However, the owners would make it clear that this property cannot be classified as completely suitable for severely disabled. The property has a 8x3 swimming pool and newly laid gardens. This property is oh so quiet. Ideal for a mature family holiday or groups of friends and absolutely ideal for someone who wants to get away from everything ... write a book even. The area is also strewn with cycle routes and walks. Hand on heart though, the owner could not say this was a holiday for young kids or teenagers ... the nearest disco or amusement arcade would probably be in Porec!!!!

The Istria region
Istria is often referred to as the New Tuscany such is its climate, landscapes and vinyards. If your not relaxing by the pool or simply taking in the sun there are plenty of day trip possibilities. For example Porec, the capital of Istria; Pula with its ancient Roman amphitheatre; Motovan, the marvellously atmospheric hill town; Rovinj with its quaint ols streets barred to traffic and Opatija with its 19th century neoclassic opulance.
Stanisi Vizinada area
Stanisi itself is a very small hamlet .... probably no more than 7 habitable dwellings most of which make a living from the wine trade. There´s a lovely restaurant just at the end of the approach road and a couple of small "supermarkets" 2km away in Vizinada (which incidentally, pretending to be French, formed the backdrop to scenes from the Clint Eastwood movie "Kelly´s Heroes"). More lively nightlife can be found a 15 minute drive away in Porec or Novigrad - two lovely seaside towns - or in quaint Buje.
How to get there
Several airports served by low cost carriers are within reasonable driving distance.... The closest being Pula in the south of Istria (Ryanair -London Stansted , Dublin) 30 mins drive to the house Then Triest over the border in Italy (Ryanair - Stansted, Frankfurt) again 30 mins drive Then Rijeka in the North East of Istria (easyjet -Luton, Bristol, HLX- Stuttgart, Munich, Hannover, Cologne, Leipzig) about a 60 min drive Then Ljubljana in Slovenia (easyjet- London Stansted, wizz-Brussels) about a 60 min drive Then Venice ... nice place to start a holiday ....with a number of airline options flying into there. This is a two hour drive to the house. Or you can even take a ferry from Venice to Porec, hire a car and drive 15 mins to the house. We fully recommend www.holidayautos.co.uk for your car hire but make sure that if you are hiring from Italy or Slovenia that you have permission to take the car into Croatia. There is usually no extra charge for this.

Further details indoors: The tv / living room can sleep two and the sitting room has a pull out sofa bed which could comfortably sleep two. Still, the property will be advertised as a very spacious 8 berth although it could take 10 comfortably. The ground floor bathroom has a walk in shower tray without a lip thus is very useful for people with walking disabilities. There is also a high chair extension to the toilet giving more freedom of movement for more senior members of the family.

Conditions
This is definitely a non-smoking property. Please be mindful that although whell-chair access is good, this is not advertised as being suitable for wheelchair users.

The property's weekend rates apply to: Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights

A non-refundable 40 % deposit is required at the time of booking. Booking remains open until deposit money is received. You will be asked to pay the balance around 45 days before the booking starts. You should arrange your own cancellation and holiday insurance. Money has to be paid by electronic bank transfer. Euro prices are indicated. You will be asked to pay all Euro balances to the Istrian based management company. Credit card payments are not accepted.
Clients will be asked for a 300 euro deposit which may be applied to any breakages or misuse of the property. This will be collected by the agent upon your arrival. This will be returned within 15 days of the end of the holiday assuming no damage costs.
