About the home

Ideal for families, bird watchers and fishermen. Fully equipped kitchen but within walking distance of restaurants and pubs. Large cottage with 3 reception rooms and 3 bedrooms, patio and secluded garden. Close to probably the finest beach in Norfolk at Sea Palling and only a short walk to the Norfolk Broads.

Whether you want to relax, tour the Broads, visit Norwich, play on the beach, walk the Weavers Way or visit the highlights of Great Yarmouth, you are ideally located.

Facilities

Sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms (2 with 2 single beds in each and i with a double bed); 1 bathroom upstairs (bath + shower) and 1 bathroom with a shower downstairs. toilet in each bathroom. centrally heated plus immersion heating for summer.

Lounge and separate dining room, also a garden room, patio with furniture and secluded garden. Kitchen is fully fitted with electric cooking (no gas here). The cottage has some toys and books and a cot and stair gate are available on request.

The cottage is around 150 years old.

we allow one well behaved dog by arrangement.

located on a quiet cul-de-sac but only 70metres from the main street of Stalham and all the facilities of this quaint market town. Market day is Tuesday. Parking ( for a small car) in front of the cottage on a private road with further on road parking and off road parking only yards away.

The Norfolk Broads are a short walk, less than 1 km where boat and bike hire facilities are available. Magnificent beach at Sea Palling, over 15km's of golden sands.

Access to the bedrooms is by traditional stairway. elderly people need to be able to negotiate 13 steps. Outside of the summer season we will consider bookings that start on any day of the week.

When you make a booking the cottage is reserved exclusively for you and payment becomes due. We will make our best endeavours to provide the cottage and its contents as described. Please notify us if anything is missing, damaged or not working so we can act.

The East Anglia / Norfolk region

Stalham is a market town situated close to the Norfolk coast and within the Norfolk Broads. The town is a small administrative centre with a good range of small shops, restaurants, pubs and take aways. There is a large Tesco express which caters for self catering needs. A wider range of shops exists in Wroxham 8km away.

Hickling, Ingham and Sea Palling each have at least one excellent pub that serves good food.

The golden sands at sea palling are stunning and stretch for 18 km's. Offshore islands protect the beach and dogs can be exercised on the beach (except at the end of Beach Rd). Stalham has a staithe where you can hire boats to tour the broads or fish, and bird life abounds.

Sutton has an important windmill. Norwich and Great Yarmouth are the larger towns providing a fuller range of facilities. Wroxham is a larger version of Stalham

The Stalham area

You can eat well in this area. Local food is well prepared and the pubs excell in good food and beer. Try the Pleasure /boat at Hickling or th pub in Ingham. Stalham has a wider range of take away outlets ad swell as pubs and you can walk to all of them from the cottage.

The Weavers Way passes through Stalham on its route from Cromer to Yarmouth and you can walk across the Bradon marshes by following the path. if you time it right catch the train form the station in the middle of the marshes, with no road access. Bird life is abundant.

From London and the south take the M11/A11. The Midlands and the north take the A47. When you reach Norwich take the A47 east towards Great Yarmouth.

At Acle take the A1064 and then the B1152 to Potter Heigham where you join the A149. Turn left on this road to Stalham. Millstones is situated on a cul-de-sac off the High Street next to the flower shop.
