About this location
The East Anglia region
It's time you visited East Anglia. We have everything from beach holidays, rural escapes and cultural experiences all within easy reach. Our coastline is endless and unique, from the breathtaking sands of north Norfolk to quaint Suffolk pebbled beaches and the family fun of Essex's coastal towns. An array of historic cities, towns and villages to explore. Numerous attractions, stately homes and gardens.
Stalham and Sutton are good centre's for exploring North Norfolk, with Stalham only being 4 miles from the nearest sandy beach. They also lie at the northern end of the Norfolk Broads, with both villages connected to the River Ant. The river flows downstream to Barton Broad, How Hill and Ludham Bridge, through some of the most beautiful Norfolk Broads scenery. Not surprisingly, Stalham is one the major starting points of Norfolk Broads boating holidays, with Richardsons being based here. The staithe at Stalham also hosts The Museum of the Broads, showing the human effect upon the Broadland environment.
Stalham itself, is a typical North Norfolk town, with a High Street containing a range of shops and other facilities, plus a nearby Tesco superstore and petrol station. A small market operates on Tuesdays and the town hall hosts various regular sales, including a farmers market on alternative Saturdays.
Sutton Staithe lies at the eastern end of Sutton Broad and has good moorings and a hotel/pub. The village itself, on the opposite side of the busy A149 road, has a shop with post office and garden centre and a pottery (Sutton Pottery). Sutton Mill is located about a mile from the staithe and is a nine storey corn-mill, currently not open to the public.

"Excellent in all respects !"
This chalet is situated on a well cared for and peaceful site of similar properties, approached through a residential area in Stalham and only minutes from the village centre shops. It is a lovely, clean property, nicely decorated and really well equipped for self catering - in fact I don't recall ever seeing such a comprehensive (and, again, clean) range of pots, pans etc in a self-catering property. There are two bedrooms - one double and one with bunk beds - and both have hanging space and bedside cabinets. The carpets look new (as did the curtains in the bedrooms)., the over-bath shower is really easy to use (again, not always the case in some properties we've stayed in) and the bed linen supplied was of good quality. We stayed for possibly the hottest week of the year in July and made full use of the on-site pool and the folding chairs also supplied by the owners. We had a slight hitch with Holiday Lettings over payment with our booking but Carl was absolutely brilliant with responses to my emails. Thank you Carl and your family for a wonderful holiday

This was a relaxing and family stay we have stayed before in August.Myself and partner stayed as our adult children live in Stalham my husband goes to work at 3.30am and I have MS plus other medical conditions so we found it perfect for relaxing,my disabilities and having a great place for family to visit us especially the grandchildren. The chalet was spotless, very homely. With such thoughtful facilities such as tea and coffee provided on arrival after a long drive till you can manage to go shopping. The club house was friendly with fun evening entertainment for all the family. The pools are clean and safe. Also lots for the kids to do safely. And car parking is a great facility with well lit up pathways to see yourself safely to the chalet. GREAT PLACE TO STAY CANT PRAISE ENOUGH. :)
