La Grange is a stunning conversion with a huge living area comprising an open plan kitchen/dining area and a lounge with French doors opening onto a large terrace with patio furniture and a bar-b-cue overlooking the pool and wonderful views. The kitchen is well equipped with a full size gas cooker, washing machine, microwave and fridge freezer, plenty of seating in the lounge, which is complete with English TV and DVD player.
Upstairs there are 4 large double bedrooms, 2 have double beds and 2 have twin beds. The largest double room has an en suite shower and a very attractive vanity unit with free standing plumbed wash hand basin. There is a large family bathroom with a bath and shower over, wash hand basin and toilet plus a separate toilet. The gite is centrally heated for winter lets.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region
There is a wealth of things to do in the countryside of the Limousin, it is a perfect area for walking, and some good walks can be had directly from ‘La Retreat’. You can also go horse riding and fishing locally, both carp fishing and coarse fishing are available.
Bird watchers will enjoy watching the wealth of birds in the area and it is lovely to watch the buzzards circling on the thermals. We are under the migratory paths and during spring and autumn, migrating birds can easily be seen, including huge flocks of storks.There are several beautiful villages in easy reach and the historic town of Limoges with it's history of porcelain manufacture.
We are in a beautiful position for people with a passion for painting and drawing, with lovely views without leaving your terrace.
The St Yrieix la Perche area
The attractive town of St Yrieix la Perche is only 5km away, and has a number of fine restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. There are plenty of good supermarkets and also small specialist shops to browse around. A general market takes place every two weeks on a Friday morning, with an abundance of excellent food stalls, fresh vegetables and clothes and crafts.St Yrieix is on the Richard the Lionheart route, with beautiful chateaux and churches along the way.
There are a variety of festivals during the summer months, artistic, musical and for the more adventurous, ballooning and a car rally.

Our stay at La Grange was a truly memorable holiday. The setting is quiet yet not isolated. The accomodation was one of the best we have been to in France. Jan and Keith are the perfect hosts and make you feel really at home. Both children and adults spent many happy hours in and around the pool, with the added attraction of 'Keith Bar'. Lots of wonderful things to do in both Limousin and the Dordogne we cannot recommend this rental highly enough! The Mills Family |

We stayed here in July for the second year running. When people say you should never go back to the same place twice how wrong they are. It was everything we loved from the first time and more. Jan and Keith are superb hosts. Keiths bar is a great family social area and a wonderful bonus to any holiday. The addition of the play area this year for the kids was brilliant and our whole family can't wait to return. A visit to St Yrieix and Jumilac le Grand are a must. All in all the most wonderful place we have ever stayed in. |
