Fig Tree Barn is a very large well presented barn conversion, with a large well equipped farmhouse kitchen, with full size gas cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer in separate larder room, and a washing machine available in the adjoining barn. Outside we have 3 hectares of land, including 2 ponds perfect for relaxing days fishing, and a secure fenced garden where you can eat al fresco and enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.
In the lounge we have ample seating and a large screen TV with SKY & DVD player.
Upstairs we have 3 bedrooms (2 double & 1 twin with 2 single beds) there is also a double bed settee in the lounge. There is a large family bathroom on this floor and also a shower room with WC on ground floor.
The barn has full central heating for winter lets.

Outside we have a large extending table and chairs and gas barbecue for guests to enjoy. There are also 2 bicycles available.
The garden is fully fenced making it safe for children to play. There is a small stream running just outside the boundary, and a river, where you can fish for trout, runs just across a small field at the end of the property, this can be reached via the woods to the right of the property.

A 25% deposit is required to secure a booking with the balance payable 8 weeks prior to your arrival date.
A 50% security deposit (25% from 26th June - 28th August) is required at least one week before arrival which will be returned within14 days of your departure as long as there is no damage to the property or contents and the farmhouse is left in the same condition as on arrival.
Payments are accepted in £ Stirling or € Euros.
There is a strict no smoking policy in the farmhouse.
The Limousin region
Within walking distance of Fig Tree Barn you will find the little hamlet of Sarlande with the local Auberge where you can get a 4 course meal for approx. 12 euros including wine, its well worth a visit! There are a wealth of things to do in the countryside of the Dordogne, it is a perfect area for walking, and some good walks can be had directly from Fig Tree Barn. You can also go horse riding and fishing locally, both carp fishing and coarse fishing are available.
Bird watchers will enjoy watching the wealth of birds in the area and it is lovely to watch the buzzards circling on the thermals. We are under the migratory paths and during spring and autumn, migrating birds can easily be seen, including huge flocks of storks.There are several beautiful villages in easy reach and the historic towns of Perigueux and Limoges with it's history of porcelain manufacture.
We are in a beautiful position for people with a passion for painting and drawing, with lovely views without leaving the property.
The attractive town of St Yrieix la Perche is only 9km away, and has a number of fine restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. There are plenty of good supermarkets and also small specialist shops to browse around. A general market takes place every two weeks on a Friday morning, with an abundance of excellent food stalls, fresh vegetables and clothes and crafts.St Yrieix is on the Richard the Lionheart route, with beautiful chateaux and churches along the way.
There are a variety of festivals during the summer months, artistic, musical and for the more adventurous, ballooning and a car rally.
Local attractions.: The property is situated near to Lake Rouffiac. Its many facilities include a SANDY BEACH, swimming, water skiing, sailing, tennis, climbing walls and restaurant. Perfect for young children or teenagers. Planned activities include paint balling, archery and high tree adventures. In St Yrieix there is a new indoor lesuire pool with outdoor water slides and also a indoor tennis centre. Whilst in Excideuil there has just been opened a golf course. This is currently 9 holes but will eventually offer a total of 27 Holes. The historical centres of Limoges, Periguex and Sarlat are all within an hours traveling time. Other attractions include horse racing at Pompadour, the magnificent chateaux at Hautefort & Jumilhac le Grande and the picturesque town of Brantome. The Dordogne is well known for its numerous prehistoric sites, including the famous Grotte de Lascaux, or for the more energetic there is also the opportunity of canoeing upon it's various rivers.
Bormazet is situated in the beautiful countryside of the Perigord Vert which has lakes, rivers and an abundance of wildlife.
Whether you are a walker, biker, cyclist or motorist you are sure to fall in love with the Dordogne.

Pompadour with famous chateau, equestrian centre with prized Anglo-arab stud horses and race course.
Trout, carp and course fishing in rivers and stocked lakes
Canoeing, electric boats, water skiing (with amazing tele-ski system) and sandy beach with safe swimming (Area cordoned-off with lifeguards in high season)
Places of interest nearby include Brantome named the "Venice of Perigord" with canoeing, troglodyte caves and many restaurants
Montignac with the famous Lascaux II cave and many other prehistoric caves and rock dwellings
Hautefort famous towering chateau and gardens
Jumilhac-le-Grand famous chateau with the story of the spinning maiden. You can pan for gold in the river bed
Coussac Bonneval an attractive old village with the fine Chateau Bonneval
Segur-le-Chateau on the route of Richard the Lionheart. One of the prettiest villages in France. During the months of July and August there is a weekly, evening farmers market where you buy your meat, poultry, trout or even snails and they are cooked for you. Find a table and enjoy your meal with fine local wines, live music and dancing
Savignac Ledrier with the ancient forge originally powered by water. An English speaking guided tour is available. A wonderful place for a picnic
St Jean-de-Cole a beautiful riverside village with a huge ancient church.
For the more adventurous, there is the Le Mont-Dore winter ski region, just a few hours drive. Mont-Dore is suitable for both novice and intermediate level skiers.
Savignac Ledrier Papeterie de Vaux an ancient paper mill, which demonstrates the manufacture of paper from rye straw. An English speaking guided tour is available.
