The Black Sea Coast region
The area known as Sunny Beach is now the most popular holiday resort in Bulgaria.It lies about 24 km north of Bourgas, along the Black Sea coast. The beach is one of the best on the Bulgarian black sea coast. It offers superb quality sand and high levels of cleanliness.
It was recently awarded the International Blue Flag prize. The area is developing quickly to meet the needs of tourism and now offers dozens of excellent restaurants, nightclubs, a casino and many varieties of water sports including surfing and water-skiing. Superb golf courses are only a very short drive away.
The nearest village to the apartment is St Vlas, there is a village square with a number of restaurants and bars, we are approx 5 kms from Sunny Beach the main resort, here you will find an abundance of restaurants, bars, nightclubs, children's activities, mini golf, in fact everything you could possibly want from a holiday. There is a regular bus service that stops outside the resort, or there are taxis here all day and night.
There is also a brand new luxury hotel next door with fabulous restaurant and an Irish Bar with pool tables and entertainment. There is some development around the resort but you are not aware of it once inside, we are 15 minutes from the old town of Nessebar with its fantastic fish restaurants and old cobbled streets packed with art galleries and shops, as well as ancient ruins and churches, well worth a visit.
You have the best of both worlds, peaceful resort with numerous facilities, but within easy reach of the hustle and bustle of Sunny Beach.
St Vlas area
This apartment is on the beach to the north side of the bay between Elenite and Sunny Beach. Sunny Beach or Slanchiev Briag as it is known in Bulgaria is famous for its long white sandy beach stretching over 7km.
THE BEACH Directly next to the complex is an adorable bay called Paradise Beach. This is a lovely white sandy beach with blue flag awards for cleanliness. The gently sloping sands allow you to venture up to 45m into the water before the depth increases to 1.5 m. The beach area has a number of lifeguard stations evenly spaced along its length. Paradise beach is only accessible on foot and therefore is only available to guests of the complexes and hotels adjacent to it. This ensures it is never too busy and very safe for children and adults alike.
There are 2 beach bars both serving good value drinks and food for all tastes. Various water sports are available including jet ski’s etc. There is also a children’s club on the beach which is air conditioned and fully supervised. This is available everyday for a small charge. Twice a day there is a water taxi across the bay to Nessebar, which returns approx 2 hrs later, allowing time to explore this ancient city.
How to get there
BOURGAS AIRPORT - approximately 25 minutes from our beautiful 1 bed seafront apartment.
Wizz Air - scheduled flights from London Luton to Bourgas airport, from 1 May 2006, flying 3 times a week (outward Monday, Wednesday & Saturday, return Tuesday, Thursday & Sunday). Prices are from £19.99 each way and so a return fare including all taxes can cost as little as £80.
Bulgaria Air - from 31st May 2006, to offer scheduled flights twice-weekly to Bourgas airport direct from London Gatwick on Wednesdays and Friday, for £175 return fare including all taxes.
VARNA AIRPORT - approximately 90 minutes from our 1 bed seafront apartment.
British Airways - scheduled flights to Varna from London Gatwick on 26 March 2006. Prices including all charges are presently under £150 return.
Bulgaria Air - flies London to Varna non-stop, and also Amsterdam to Varna.
Malev Airlines - scheduled flights to Varna from London via Budapest on Tuesdays and Saturdays (outward 07:15-15:15, return 16:05-20:05).
