Recently renovated, this stone built cottage with original beams has two double bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs and a spacious open plan lounge/dining room/kitchen downstairs. Bathroom and kitchen are newly fitted with all mod cons. Situated in a peaceful, rural situation, the property is in the large grounds of the owners' house but has its own private terrace and garden overlooking the lovely countryside.

Ideal for nature lovers, there are plenty of walks straight from the door and many more in the local area. Bird and animal life are abundant. Miles of quiet roads and rolling hills make for beautiful and challenging bike rides. Secure cycle parking is available. Only 10 kilometres from Caussade, a typical French market town with all amenities; shops, weekly market, cinema, restaurants and bars. Nearby are the famous 'bastide' fortified towns, with medieval houses, castles, and quaint cobbled streets. And of course there are vineyards and farms to visit, not to mention restaurants serving the gastronomic delights of south west France.

For families and those who like a more active holiday there's a swimming lake with sandy beach and canoes and an open air swimming pool only 10 minutes drive away. Horse riding, cycle hire and canoe kayaking are available nearby. Within a couple of hours drive are the Pyrenees, the walled medieval city of Carcassonne and the coast.

"Beautiful cottage in an often overlooked corner of France"

We came from Canada for this and was it ever worth it! We were warmly greeted by our hosts Heather and Geoff. The cottage is complete in every way and very bright inside. We used it as our hub for many fantastic day trips to the local hilltop villages. Every town has its own tourism centre which is great. Heather gave us tips about local markets. We often walked around the local roads and trails. We would come back anytime!
