The Villa is spacious and well equipped with all the necessary facilities, equipment, cooking utensils etc necessary to comfortably cater for up to ten people (Max eight adults + two small children) for a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable holiday. The Villa is a typical comfortable Provencal family Villa - not a millionaire's luxury villa. In the summer months from June to early September, it really does have day after day of continuous beautiful weather with hours of sunshine throughout the day - nearly always from from dawn to dusk (the occasional wet / grey day excepting). And with the Villa facing due south over the looking the pool, it is perfect for relaxing in complete privacy and sunbathing whilst sipping a glass of chilled Rose wine by the pool . . . . . . . . . .

(why do we British like the south of France so much - especially along the Cote D'Azur ? Could it be anything to do with a grey, cold, rainy old Britain most of the time ! !)

The Villa is perfect for a party of eight adults - but with the two extra Z beds available and the sofa bed in the Lounge - we can accommodate up to ten people (Max eight adults + two young children/babies) and we can provide a cot. There is generally ample pottery, cups, glasses, chairs inside and outside to cope with ten adults (even twelve - the owners have entertained up to twenty people).

One of the most attractive features of the Villa is its privacy and elevated position with unobstructed superb views over the Haut Mures mountains to the west set in a large grounds of about 2/3 acre - and of course the wonderful L shaped pool!

There are a number of good golf courses in the region - Beauvallon, Gassin, Ste Maxime etc. And In the Winter period from about mid December to mid March, some excellent skiing is available in Isola 2000 (2 hours drive), Auron and nearby (1 1/2 hours drive) and others.

Booking a one week stay at the Villa for some relaxing sunshine (which is quite possible even in December and January - the owners have sunbathed at 22 deg Celcius at Christmas time before !) and going for a few days skiing is WONDERFUL !

Ask for details of our FULLY MANAGED WINTER GOLFING/ SKIING HOLIDAYS based from our Villa (ie everything arranged, car hire, airport pick up, transport to and from golf clubs or Ski resort, cooking and maid services etc

Our Villa is located near to the coast along the St Tropez Riviera (this is how we we describe the area around the Bay of St Tropez) - part of the Cote D'Azur. The region is steeped in history with many places of historical interest going back to Roman occupation times and before. The Grimaud area still is only lightly developed compared to places like Cannes, Nice and Marseilles which adds to its attraction as a wonderful area to enjoy a holiday.

Above all - compared to the UK - the weather is generally wonderful. In the UK we occasionally get a few sunny days but along the Cote D'Azur (from about May to September) it's nearly always sunny with, occasionally, a few days of wet / inclement weather - from about mid June to mid September it is almost always warm/sunny/hot from dawn to dusk ! It is a world apart from the miserable weather of the UK !. .

The St Tropez / Port Grimaud area

During the peak sumer months - you name it - you can do it (well, just about !). This includes: Water skiing, diving, pleasure boat trips, walking, scooter hire, windsurfing, para-gliding, golf, go karting, tennis, musical evenings and concerts, beach sunbathing along the numerous fabulous sandy beaches around the St Tropez Riviera.

St Tropez itself is magic, steeped in its roots as a quiet fishing village until after the 1960's when Brigite Bardot made it famous - nowadays the favourite place to visit; whilst Ste Maxime, directly across the bay from St Tropez, delights in many good restaurants and a very popular marina - and in linked by a regular ferry to St Tropez.

Port Grimaud - in the west of the bay - is the Venice of the south of France and very very popular with the yachting fraternity; there are many apartments and houses along the canals which have their own yacht moorings, and there are many good restaurants and shops.

The nearby hilltop villages of Ramatuelle, Gassin and Grimaud are pretty with many fine restaurants and the regional town of Cogolin is busy and very French Provençal. A trip to the old and pretty mountain village of La Garde Freinet is well worth it.

From the UK most of our guests either fly to Nice (1 hr 15 mins drive to Villa) or Marseilles (about 2 hours drive to Villa). The major carriers - BA, Air France, Easyjet, Bmibaby, Jet2 etc. Ryanair operate from Luton / Stanstead to Toulon (about 1 hr from Villa) and from other UK airports to numerous other airports including Nimes, Grenoble, Bergerac etc.

The driving journey from the northern coast to the Villa (ie from Calais, Le Havre etc) is about 1000 km and can be achieved in one day - provided two or more drivers regularly swap driving duties - but a one night stay overnight en route is sensible. It is also possible to use the TGV with car from Lille to Avignon, Marseille or St Raphael - but check prices.

WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND PROSPECTIVE GUESTS TO RESERVE THEIR VILLA STAY WITH US PROVISIONALLY (we will hold dates provisionally for a few days) BEFORE BOOKING FLIGHTS.

As tempting as it is to be seduced into booking cheap flights first, DON'T DO IT !! The cheapest flights will normally be very early or very late and to the more out of the way airports (for the Cote D'azur - ie Nimes etc).

Most major Car Hire firms operate from the major airports - ie Hertz, Avis, Europcar, Sixt etc and some bargains do crop up if you search persistently. We strongly recommend taking out a Damage / Excess waiver insurance policy in Britain - which is quite cheap annually - because if you have an accident in France without excess insurance cover etc - the extra costs can be horrendous - and be many hundreds or even thousands of Euros - which will be taken directly from your Credit Card
