About this location
The Poitou-Charentes region
The Charente region reputedly has its own micro-climate. The official statistics make it the 2nd most sunniest place in France after the Cote d'Azur.
St Amant de Graves is situated on the line between the 'Grande Champagne' and 'Petit Champagne' terroirs of the Cognac growing region. The village is bounded on 3 sides by vineyards and on the 4th by the Charente river. This combination makes for beautiful cycling and walking right on our doorstep.
For the more adventurous there are many sports available close by, and all the hustle and bustle of Angouleme (the capital of the region) just 20 mins drive away.
A water park is located in Angouleme, and Furturoscope is an hours drive away near Poitiers.
Beaches etc are also an easy hours drive away, but most guests laze by the pool or river.

"Charming Home & Hosts"
Lovely English hosts who make you feel right at home. Their property is so charming and comfortable. They know the area well and can provide many options for things to do nearby. Many things I heard during my tours in the area, I had already been told by my hosts, Dave & Janet.
Located in a small town in the Charente region, perfect location! Vineyards all around, close to Cognac, Angouleme and a short drive to the Atlantic coast. Highly recommended!
