About the home

A comfortable detached bungalow in private gardens, patio and private swimming pool, decked BBQ area. Well equipped house, a home from home. Ideal for families, couples, friends wanting to get away from it all but within easy reach of amenities. Plenty of space for up to 6 people plus baby.

Set in an area surrounded by chateaux/vineyards and woodlands, a perfect peaceful retreat to "get away from it all" but within easy reach of all amenities.

Comfortable and spacious living and dining areas with a Log Fire for the winter and electric heaters. TV and DVD player.
3 comfortable bedrooms consisting of 1 Double Room and 2 Twin Rooms.
Hairdryer in each bedroom.
Washing machine, iron and ironing board provided. A
well equipped kitchen with a dishwasher.
Spacious shower room with two hand basins. Separate WC.
Baby's travel cot, highchair, pushchair and baby bath available.
Electric Fans in all bedrooms and dining area.
Indoor board games/playing cards and a set of boules available for playing outside.

Private swimming pool only in use in the summer - usually end April/beginning May to October.

Welcome pack provided on arrival. Bed Linen & Towels provided.

Although no smoking inside the property there are sheltered areas to smoke outside.

Conditions

Children welcome. A cot (including bedding), highchair, baby bath, basic pushchair and changing mat can be provided for a baby. Please mention your requirements.

Check in on day of arrival from 4pm and Check Out on day of departure no later than 10am.

Refundable breakages / "clean and tidy" deposit required.

Smokers welcome but we would ask that you do not smoke inside the house, there are plenty of shaded/covered areas immediately outside.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Gironde region

Set in a village surrounded by vineyards and woodlands.

Chateaux situated walking distance (in the village and next village of Puynormand) selling wine direct to the public.

Close to St Emilion.

Man made beaches close by in St Seurin (5-10 mins) and Villefranche (15 mins).

Village shop in Puynormand selling most produce including fresh bread and croissants etc baked daily+.

The St Seurin sur l'Isle / Gours area

There is a small man made beach on the river at St Seurin (approx 5kms) where pedaloes and kayaks can be hired and a small children's play area. There is also a lake near Villefranche (approx 9kms) which has a great beach with a supervised area, where boats and pedaloes etc can be hired. Restaurants also on the beach. There is also a children's play area. There are many chateaux to visit in the area, St Emilion is approximately 20kms away.

Local Sunday market at St Seurin (5/10 minutes) and also at Libourne (approx 25 mins). During July and August the town of Le Pizou holds a night market every Tuesday which has a great atmosphere

Fly to Bergerac (various airlines including Ryanair) or Bordeaux (various airlines including Easyjet and British Airways) - you will need a hire car from these airports - approx 1 hour drive.

Train to Bordeaux , Libourne or St Seurin (no hire car office at St Seurin station station) - hire car needed.

A day's drive from Calais and other Northern France Ferry Ports. (Also Ferry Ports in Northern Spain - shorter drive)

“Wonderful Retreat” We'd had a tough year, and were looking for somewhere away from it all, peaceful and relaxing, to give us a chance to unwind, and charge the batteries! This was just perfect!! The scenery around this part of France is amazingly stunning. The actual property was homely, very clean and fantastically presented. We were there in the summer, and it gets comfortably hot, so endless days chilling around the pool are very much a possibility. Also, you could travel to the fashionable Bordeaux, the quant and cultural Bergerac or sample the wines at St Emilion. Added to all this, Barbara and Bill were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble for them, and you really felt like they cared about your stay. They've thought of everything that you'd need too. One evening, I actually thought i had caught them out, when i was looking for a cheese grater!! (I needed it for grating cheese, not playing a daft 'hunt the cheese grater' game!) Anyway, i hadn't caught them out, it was there all along!!......In short, If you need a place to escape and relax, you can't go wrong here - wonderful! Thanks Barbara and Bill, will see you again! “A wonderfully peaceful holiday with a pool to entertain the children.” This was a great holiday to get away from it all. Barbara and Bill were great and we felt that they would be there in a minute if we had needed anything. The surrounding area was nice and rural which gave us the chance to get away from everything. The pool was amazing and the children could mess about in the water as much as they liked. The weather was mainly nice and warm too which made a nice change from England! We would love to visit again in the future. “A relaxing and peaceful property in ideal rural surroundings” Barbara and Bill the owners were there awaiting our arrival and explained everything we needed to know during our stay. The property has an excellent pool and you are alone and away from any interruptions so much so that if it was your choice to do nothing else then this is all you would need. Local shopping is only 5 minutes away in the car which i think is essential as it is a very rural area.There are many places of interest to visit most of which are no more than an hour away My only compaint would be that it went far too quickly I will deffinately be coming again. Just enjoyed a truly relaxing week in this superb accommodation which suited our family perfectly. The house was very well equipped and all the little extra touches made it feel like a home from home. We all enjoyed the outdoor space and our 3 girls loved the pool. Hopefully we will return one day!
