Gours is a small quiet village situated just outside the market town of St Seurin sur l'Isle in the Aquitaine region of the south-west of France.
The gite (holiday cottage) is a traditional French cottage sleeps up to 6 people with a swimming pool which was completed in April.
There is a Chateau in the village is selling wine direct to the public and plenty to do in and around the surrounding area, making it suitable for families, couples, a group of friends or individuals seeking a break. Bordeaux is approximately an hour away. St Emilion is approximately 20 minutes away.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Gironde region
Gours is a small village situated just outside the market town of St Seurin sur l'Isle in the Aquitaine region of the south-west of France, home to some of the most famous wines such as Médoc, Pomerol, St Emilion, and dessert wine Sauternes, not forgetting foie gras, armagnac and truffles. The city of Bordeaux is the region's capital and is approximately an hour away. There is plenty to do in and around Gours and surrounding area, making it suitable for families, couples, a group of friends or individuals seeking a break.
St Seurin sur l'Isle / Gours area
There is a small man made beach on the river at St Seurin (approx 5kms) where pedaloes and kayaks can be hired and a small children's play area. There is also a lake near Villefranche (approx 9kms) which has a beach with a supervised area where boats and pedaloes etc can be hired. Restaurants also on the beach and there is also a children's play area. There are many chateaux to visit in the area, St Emilion is approximately 20kms away.
Local Sunday market at St Seurin (5/10 minutes) and also at Libourne (approx 25 mins). During July and August the town of Le Pizou holds a night market every Tuesday which has a great atmosphere.
How to get there
Fly to Bergerac or Bordeaux airports - you will need a hire car; both airports are approximately 1 hour drive from the house.
Train to Libourne or St Seurin - car will be needed.
Approximately a day to drive from Calais in the car or approximately 8 hours from St Malo (overnight ferry crossing).

CD Player (plays MP3 CDs) 3 bedrooms consisting of 1 double room and 2 twin rooms. Hairdryer in double bedroom. Washing machine, clothes horse, iron and ironing board provided. A new and well equipped kitchen. Spacious bathroom (inc bath and shower hose attachment) with hand basin and bidet. Separate WC. Highchair, travel cot and basic pushchair available. Electric heaters in all bedrooms, dining area, kitchen and hallway. Indoor board games/playing cards and a set of boules available for playing outside. Indoor table tennis table located in garage.
Further details outdoors: Swimming pool (fenced) at the rear - for use in the summer, usually April to October. BBQ (stored in the garage). Garage underneath house (with indoor table tennis table). Some outdoor games are provided. There is a ramp to the side of the gite for pram/buggy access.
Conditions
Children welcome. A highchair, travel cot and basic pushchair can be provided if requested at time of booking at no extra charge.
Refundable breakages deposit required.
Smoking is not permitted inside the house, but there is a sheltered area outside on the balcony should guests wish to smoke.
