We loved Lacassagnie. The pool setting was private with plenty of comfortable seating and the length, long enough for swimming laps. The kitchen was perfectly appointed for cooking meals and the bedrooms, extremely spacious. There were plenty of fluffy towels for the pool and bath. The hosts were nearby for any questions which we found helpful as the property is isolated. The only sound we heard was the braying donkey at the neighbor's farm. John and Joy were perfect hosts, available, but not intrusive. They graciously had fresh croissants and a baguette waiting for us which was greatly appreciated after a long flight. We look forward to a return trip.

A fantastically relaxing location with the most immaculate pool you could imagine in a private property. John and Joy were perfect hosts - welcoming and on hand if necessary but totally unobtrusive. The property was delightful, very clean and equipped to a good standard with wonderful outdoor space. The whole area is properly rustic and it was a delight to spend time there. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending Lacassagnie for those who want a chilled out time off the beaten track.

Our week at Lacassagnie was truly memorable and a perfect antidote to the long months spent in the suburbs of London prior to it. The farmhouse is immaculately clean, comfortable and set in totally peaceful surroundings. We enjoyed swimming in the beautiful pool everyday - it is a very good size, spotlessly clean thanks to daily cleaning by the owners and perfect for swimming lengths or just lazing. The surrounding terraces and gardens are a delight and it was fantastic to be able to soak up the hot sun on one of the patios whilst knowing that there was always ample shade to be had under one of the many parasols or simply to cool off in the pool. The farmhouse its self also remained pleasantly cool even in very hot weather. The surrounding area is very quiet and unspoiled but with plenty of choices for restaurants including a local auberge just a fifteen minute walk away which serves superb food at very reasonable prices.

Lacassagnie is impeccably maintained and the hosts (Joy and John) are very welcoming. Our family of 4 had an idyllic vacation sightseeing the numerous local villages, walking the surrounding farm country, enjoying local markets and playing in the pool. Joy and John made every effort to ensure that we felt right at home, while always affording us our privacy.
Some of the local sights that we particularly enjoyed were the Grotte du Peche Merle, St. Cirq la Popie, Najac, and the Sunday market in Limogne.
For our daughters, the highlight was definitely the pool!!!
"A Holiday in Heaven"
"In Jul/Aug 2009 we spent 18 days in the blissful peace & privacy of Lacassagnie.
The owners have restored the large & charming stone house, providing every comfort & convenience imagineable. Everything is top quality, tasteful & immaculate - enormous cotton-clad beds, en suites, modern appliances in a splendid country kitchen, sofas & lounges, cool tiled floors, double glazing.
In the midsummer heat the house remained cool & there was chilled water & ice from the 2 door fridge. And outside, the magnificent pool overlooking hayfields & hedgerows & surrounded by lavender beds, gardens, lawn & stone terraces with sunlounges, dining setting & umbrellas.
Our hosts were perfect - kind, helpful & welcoming, never ever intrusive but there when we needed them (eg. local bank & bakery opening hours!). We felt pampered & spoiled, & couldn't imagine a more heavenly holiday.

We spent two weeks at Lacasagnie this July and couldn't have found a more idyllic place to spend one's holiday. We have rented houses in Spain; England, Italy, Austria and France and for us this has been one of the nicest.
It's a beautiful old farm restored to very high standard with all the modern comforts one could need. One of its highlights is the heated pool surrounded by fields.
It's also so peaceful that one just manages to relax and forget all the problems of the every day life.
The owners Joy and John make you feel extremely welcome and are very helpul with anything you might need
There are lots of lovely places to visit and in short distance from Lacassagnie, and also beautiful drives in any direction. You really get the feel of the rural France.
We do hope to go back in the near future.

"Honeymoon - perfect!"
"It’s very difficult to summarise the experience of our two week stay in such a fantastic location. If you are looking for peace and tranquillity – look no further. We had our honeymoon in this most romantic of settings. Our hosts John & Joy could not have made our stay any more perfect than it was. It really was our ‘Mills & Boons’. We wanted for nothing; even the local Red Deer appeared to complete the romantic setting. Thank you both so much. Rob & Jayne x "
We were made to feel very welcome by the owners, John and Joy, who were on hand whenever needed to offer friendly advice or tips on the best places to visit. We are now planning a return trip next year!
Many thanks for another wonderful holiday at Lacassagnie. The house and setting is truly beautiful and we really appreciate your warmth and care in making our stay a perfect and very memorable one. We are looking forward to coming back again.

Enquire nowThe Midi-Pyrenees / Lot region
The Midi Pyrenees is located in the South West of France and includes beautiful countryside, the Pyrenees Mountains therapeutic Spas,Great Rivers of France,Historical Sites and Towns,Museums and Art Galleries, outstanding leisure opportunities, and Toulouse the thriving capital of European Aerospace. It is an immense region of contrasting history and opportunity. The Occitan (and French) languages and Patois dialects, the colourful and sometimes painful history of religious and political differences, give a vivid and sometimes poignant interest to the summer visitor.
The St Projet area
Lacassagnie is near the village of St.Projet (Tarn et Garonne) with it's pretty 14thCentury Chateau.Once owned by England's Edward,Prince of Wales (the Black Prince),and famously visited by Marguerite de Valois, daughter of King Henri II and Catherine de Medici, and later wife of Henri IV of France. The Chateau is worth a visit in July or August, where your guide could describe the intrigue surrounding her stay in the Chateau in September 1585.
Nearby are the small towns of Limogne en Quercy and Caylus. There is an excellent Restaurant just 500 metres away in the tiny Hamlet of Le Cros. In July and August it is essential to book in advance as Monsieur Roger can cater for up to 50 covers only in his atmospheric ancient stone Barn. The local Boulangerie is just a short cycle ride away, (by the direct route),in the Bastide village of Beauregard. Larger towns include Villefranche de Rouergue and the Departmental Capitals of Cahors and Montauban, each a fantastic place to visit especially for the gourmet or gourmand.
The area has outstanding flora and fauna, including wild orchids, deer, wild boar and red kite. The vineyards of Cahors and Gaillac are on the doorstep and exceptional wines can be purchased direct at very reasonable prices. The Bastide Towns of the region are extremely attractive as are the rivers of the Aveyron,Lot and Tarn. The beautiful towns and villages of Najac,St.Cirq Lapopie,St Antonin Noble Val and Cordes sur Ciel are a must to visit.Further afield are Rocamadour,Pech Merle,Conques, and La Ville Rose (Toulouse),with its Museums,Churches,Restaurants,Aerospace Centre, and for the locals,'Le Shopping.'
The magnificent new Millau Bridge, though some distance,is worth a visit.
The Region is particularly famous for gastronomic specialities such as Truffles Wild Mushrooms and Foie Gras. The Winter Truffle Markets at Limogne Caussade and Lalbanque attract Restaurateurs and Agents from around the world.
There are a wide range of Restaurants from which to choose, ranging from simple Auberges to Michelin starred establishments.
Sports and leisure activities include Cycling (Bikes can be hired locally in Limogne), Walking, Tennis, Canoeing, Riding, Swimming. There are interesting small lakes nearby at Parisot and Bannac.
The summer season sees local towns and villages organising seasonal festivities including music festivals,
themed spectaculars, brocantes, cycle races, night markets, organised walks and cycle rides, petanque matches and many local fêtes with long multi-course meals including wine, and dancing. However, The area around Lacassagnie still remains extremely relaxed and traffic free throughout the year.
