Maison Mireille is a separate and private part of this most beautiful manoir. The two spacious bedrooms are tastefully furnished, one has a roomy kingsize bed and one has two singles. Both bedrooms have luxury bathrooms and glorious views. There is a spacious comfortably furnished lounge with English/French T.V. DVD, C.D. and radio, a dining area looking out onto the courtyard and a modern kitchen fully equipped for easy living with a fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, full cooker, microwave etc. There is a large conservatory attractively furnished for eating and relaxing with wonderful views across the valley and opening onto a pleasent private garden with table, chairs, parasol, B B Q, etc. There is private parking.

The property is fully centrally heated and perfect for out of season holidays. We meet our guests in the village and escort them to their lovely gite.We provide a welcome pack of a nice bottle of Bergerac wine,a crusty loaf from our baker,butter,fresh eggs from our hens,cheese,tomatoes,tea,coffee,sugar and milk. We also provide all soaps,washing powder,dishwasher tablets,fabric conditioner etc. All bed linen,towels.tea towels etc are also provided.
We can advise on places to visit, great places to eat and can make reservations if required.

To help you enjoy the garden to the fullest we provide an outside table, chairs, sunloungers, cushions, a parasol and a B.B.Q. etc
Bicycles are available for hire (at half the local rate) to help you explore the beautiful countryside.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region


The Dordogne is part of the Aquitaine region in the south west of France and is famed for its wonderful wooded valleys, glorious rivers and more than a thousand fairy tale castles.
The area is steeped in history with many delightful medieval towns and villages as well as the world famous prehistory cave settlements at Les Eyzies and Lascaux.
Bergerac area is renowned for its wines as is Cahors in the neighbouring Lot department. Both offer wine tasting and tours.
The St. Pompon-Perigord Noir area
The property nestles in unspoilt countryside, perfect for walking, cycling, or horse riding, and rich in wildlife - deer, red squirrels, kites, golden oriole, nightingales, nightjars, hoopoe, a myriad of butterflies and abundant wild flowers. The pretty village of St Pompon is within walking distance and here you can find all essential provisions as well as bars and restaurants. The village celebrates those long summer Saturday evenings with local food, wine, music, and dancing in the street- great fun! The medieval village of Daglan with its gourmet restaurant is within 5mins drive. The romantic cliff villages of Beynac and La Roque Gageac are within easy reach as is the bastide village of Domme with its wonderful views over the Dordogne.
The historic town of Sarlat with countless restaurants and colourful street markets is just a ride away. For those wishing retail therapy the cities of Bergerac, Perigueux, Brive and Cahors are all within driving distance.
The whole area is rich in arts and crafts with many interesting galleries and studios.And then ,of course, there is the marvelous river - boat trips, canoes, paddling,swimming, picnics - glorious.
