Home description

Palm Tree Villa is one of just eight 'cottages' set amongst lush tropical gardens on a quiet ridge development above Mullins Bay. It is just a few minutes walk to the fabulous, much sought after, Mullins Beach, which is one of the most popular beaches on the West coast of the island. The villa offers a comfortable and spacious living environment for four people with an open plan living/dining area, a well equipped modern kitchen, two good sized bedrooms, one double, one twin, both with en suite facilities, a terrace for al fresco dining and a refreshing communal garden plunge pool to cool off in. The villa is fully air conditioned, has a private off road parking area, sea views and is close to all amenities. A car is recommended, but not essential as transport links are very good around the island. It is an ideal holiday home for those of you who just want to 'chill out' and relax, get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and spend some quality time living life at a slower pace with friendly local hospitality - the Barbados way.

The St Peter Parish region

Barbados, sits between the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea in the eastern Caribbean. This pretty island of rolling hills, coral reefs and 60 miles of sun-drenched beaches, enjoys an average of 3000 sunshine hours each year, perfect for those seeking the sun, sand and sea. Famous for its relaxed atmosphere, exciting festivals and rich Bajan culture, there is plenty to see and do in Barbados. The stylish West coast is often referred to as the "Platinum Coast" and is renowned for its clear warm waters that lap gently onto white powdery sands. This coast is ideal for a family holiday or a romantic getaway. There are several magnificent beaches along this coast from Brandons, Batts Rock, Fitts Village, Paynes Bay, Sandy Lane and Folkestone Park in St.James to Mullins Bay and Heywoods in St. Peter, as well as many more along the way! At each of these beaches you will find the calm azure waters of the Caribbean Sea that are perfect for all types of water sports, including, sailing, scuba diving, snorkelling, jet-skiing etc and clean coral sands on which to relax and soak up the brilliant Caribbean sunshine.

Mullins Bay area

A short walk will take you down to the beautiful beach at Mullins Bay where you will find plenty of sun-loungers and water sports available. There is also an excellent, well-renowned, beach bar and restaurant here too. A well stocked 24 hour mini mart is situated at the Texaco filling station a few paces past the beach entrance, towards Speightstown, for your basic shopping needs. Supermarkets, banks etc. can be found 10 minutes drive away in both historic Speightstown to the north and Holetown to the south. The local buses pass by the beach in both directions very regularly, and taxis run 24 hours a day, making travel around the island both easy and inexpensive. Travel by local bus or taxi is safe and the drivers are very friendly and welcoming. However you may like to hire a car for part or all of your stay for ease of mobility, especially if you aim to eat out in the evenings or want to explore the island.
St. Lawrence Gap on the South coast is famous for it's fine restaurants, lively nightlife and good shopping. Bridgetown, the capital, is well worth a visit to explore its historic buildings as well as the duty free shops! If you want to get off the island for a day, there are a number of boat trips to choose from in various crafts, eg. glass bottom boats, catamaran tours, galleons and the Harbour Master River Boat to name but a few. Helicopter trips can also be booked from Bridgetown Heliport and you can also Island Hop by light aircraft to all the neighbouring islands from Barbados Grantley Adams International Airport. You can even dive in a submarine! There is so much to do on this fantastic island - the choice is yours!
For more information on what to see and do on the island visit www.barbados.org which is an excellent website.
