The heart of the house was built in the middle of the 19th century. All rooms are light and airy, some fitted out in typical Provencal style with French doors and shutters.

This spacious 1 bedroom apartment is located on the garden level with its own private 20 square metre terrace, kept cool and shaded in summer by a vine-covered pergola and terrace above.
It has a stylish, fully equipped kitchen, combined within the living room. Traditional French doors open wide onto the dining terrace, furnished with table and 4 chairs and 2 lovely teak loungers.
Kitchen facilities include a smart stainless steel oven, 4-flame gas hob, fridge, filter coffee and espresso machine.
There is one good-sized bedroom with a large bed (160 x 200cm) and huge windows which can be thrown open to let in the fragrances of the Mediterranean garden.
There is also a sofa bed in the living room (140 x 200cm).
There’s a spacious well-appointed shower room with toilet.
Shared washing machine facilities are available nearby.

The villa is set in the middle of a large and quiet Mediterranean garden - approximately 3600 square metres on different levels with palm trees, cypresses, bougainvillea, mimosa and roses.
For the summertime there is a communal, fully equipped outside-kitchen with a barbecue. Deck chairs and sun umbrellas can also be used in the garden.
All apartments have on site parking (one car per apartment), central heating, and fully equipped kitchens and
maid service and facilities for babies are available upon request.

Baby facilities: baby cot and high chair are available upon request
Bed & bathroom linen: has been priced separately to give you the option to take your own (or in case the number of people in your party is less than the number of places). If you wish to hire these, they are available from the owner for 20 Euros per person, per change, paid direct.
End-of-stay cleaning: has been priced separately, so that if you are staying for more than 1 week you are not paying in duplicate. It is 40 Euros and paid directly to the owner.
Taxe de Séjour: in France, it’s usually necessary to pay this at the end of your stay. For this property it is 0.70 Euros per person (over 13 years), per night and is payable directly to the owner.
Gas, electric & water: all included in the rental cost.
Winter heating: included in the rental cost
Internet: connection available here for your laptop
The owner may request a damage deposit of 150 Euros on arrival. This will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.
Change over day: normally a Saturday

Smoking is not permitted in this apartment, however outside on the terrace is.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
The Mediterranean beaches of Nice, Antibes and Cannes are close by. Tennis, golf and other sports facilities are nearby, as well as a local outdoor swimming pool from May - Sept. With its close proximity to the hilly countryside, this makes the apartment an ideal base for those who enjoy the outdoors, walking and cycling.
Within easy reach of Nice, its international airport and all that the Cote d’Azur has to offer.
The St Paul de Vence / Vence area
Vence is an artist’s town and along with its equally well-known neighbouring town of Saint Paul de Vence, is situated amidst the beautiful hilly scenery west of Nice.
It has drawn artists both well known and amateur, and a special attraction is Matisse’s Chapel, a short walking distance from the old town. Another is the Chagall painting in the Cathedral.
There is a wide range of shops, restaurants and markets in the historical old part of the town, and the apartment is situated adjacent.

By Car – Vence lies in the hills to the west of Nice and can be easily accessed from the N7
By Air – Nice-Cote d’Azur is the nearest international airport, approximately 15 kilometres away. There is a regular bus service from the airport to Vence town centre.
By Train – Eurostar runs from London to Paris city centres and then the high speed TGV service runs from Paris to Nice.

We had the most fantastic week in THE OLD SAVONNERIE 3. The owners were absolutely delightful hosts and the accommodation was superb with its light and airy apartment and stunning gardens. We enjoyed wandering in the Old Cite, having 'cafe creme' while enjoying the amazingly talented buskers, purchasing some bargains in the colourful markets and just watching the world go by. The Old Savonnerie was also perfectly located for expeditions into the wider environments of Monaco, Antibes & Cannes with its beautiful Iles and St Paul de Vence. The walks around Vence were also something we greatly enjoyed. All in all, I couldn't recommend The Old Savonnerie more highly. We stayed at the Old Savonnerie for 7 weeks while I completed a language course and the total accommodation package was absolutely faultless! I couldn't recommend the accommodation highly enough. The standard of the accommodation was first class, the location was wonderful and the service was extremely helpful and friendly. The owners spoke English, French and German fluently which was extremely useful to all the residents. "Milan" the caretaker who managed the property for the majority of our stay was exceptional and overall both my wife and myself couldn't have been treated with more consideration and help during our stay. Without doubt this is the best holiday we have ever had and we highly recommend it to anyone who would like to relax in luxurious and friendly surroundings in such a beautiful part of the world - Mr M from Wiltshire, April 07.
