Home description

On the outskirts of the historic old town of Vence, just to the west of Nice, this one bedroom apartment is set in a beautifully renovated 1850's soap factory, and is just 100 metres walk to the shops and restaurants.

This beautiful, spacious one bedroom apartment is located near to the 13th century "portail Levis" area of the historic town of Vence. There are several other individually decorated apartments in this charming old villa so if you are going as a group, ask us for details and availability of the other apartments.

The villa is set in the middle of a large and quiet Mediterranean garden - approximately 3600 square metres on different levels with palm trees, cypresses, bougainvillea, mimosa and roses. The heart of the house was built in the middle of the 19th century and all rooms are light and airy, some fitted out in typical Provencal style with French doors and shutters.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region

The Mediterranean beaches of Nice, Antibes and Cannes are close by. Tennis, golf and other sports facilities are nearby, as well as a local outdoor swimming pool from May - Sept.

Within easy reach of Nice, its international airport and all that the Cote d’Azur has to offer.


St Paul de Vence / Vence area

Vence is an artist’s town and along with its equally well-known neighbouring town of Saint Paul de Vence, is situated amidst the beautiful hilly scenery west of Nice.

It has drawn artists both well known and amateur, and a special attraction is Matisse’s Chapel, a short walking distance from the old town. Another is the Chagall painting in the Cathedral.

There is a wide range of shops, restaurants and markets in the historical old part of the town, and the apartment is situated adjacent.

With its close proximity to the hilly countryside, this makes the apartment an ideal base for those who enjoy the outdoors, walking and cycling.

By Car – Vence lies in the hills to the west of Nice and can be easily accessed from the N7

By Air – Nice-Cote d’Azur is the nearest international airport, approximately 15 kilometres away. There are daily flights from the UK with British Airways, British Midland, Easyjet and Jet 2.There is a regular bus service from the airport to Vence town centre.

By Train – Eurostar runs from London to Paris city centres and then the high speed TGV service runs from Paris to Nice.

It has a long, fully equipped kitchen, opening onto a light and airy dining room with French doors to a sitting room. Kitchen facilities include an oven, 4-flame gas hob, fridge, dishwasher, coffee and espresso machine.
There is a good-sized bedroom with a large bed and high ceilings. There is also a sofa bed in the sitting room (140 x 200cm).
There is a spacious, en-suite shower area off the bedroom and a separate WC off the dining room.
Communal washing machine facilities are available.

For the summertime there is a communal, fully equipped outside-kitchen with a barbecue. Deck chairs and sun umbrellas can also be used in the garden.
