About this location

The Cornwall region

Well known as the "holiday destination" in the UK, the West Country abounds with history, breath taking views and miles and miles of beaches. The mild climate means exotic plants thrive, and there are many gardens open to the public with spectacular examples of colourful shrubs and plants. The coastal footpath is open to all and stretches the length of Cornwall, offering unparallelled walks and beaches. The quaint fishing villages and moorland pubs and restaurants are plentiful. Cornwall is a County of contrasts, with the romance of Bodmin Moor, its ponies and sheep and the surfing paradise of Newquay, with its nightlife, there is something to suit everyone.

St Neot

Ley Cottage is very conveniently located for touring Cornwall - Nearby is the Eden Project, Lanhydrock House and Carnglaze Caverns, which hosts various concerts throughout the year in the famous underground caves.

The North and South Coast are easily accessible (approximately 30 minutes) and the local award winning village of St. Neot (10 minutes) has a pub, shop and church. Trago Mills, just down the hill, has more or less anything you could wish to buy, including clothing, wetsuits, fishing gear, tools, fruit and vegetables, meat, bread, pies and pasties! Also a hairdressers, plenty of parking and peacocks amongst other things.

The Loveny River winds through the Loveny valley just below Ley Cottage and the road adjoining the river takes you to Bodmin and beyond.

Looe, Polperro and Fowey on the south coast and Polruan, Camelford and Port Isaac are all an easy drive from the cottage, or travel further afield to the far west, Lands end, the Minack theatre and St Ives are well worth a visit.

This historical and romantic county is easy to fall in love with and you probably won't want to leave - many don't!!

"Memorable stay in a beautiful unique cottage."

We had a lovely week in a rural setting. You will find Ley cottage down a quiet country lane. The cottage itself is cosy and comfortable and is equipped with everything you would need.If however there is anything you need Trago Mills is a very short distance away. The location is perfect as you are ideally situated to explore a multitude of attractions throughout Cornwall.
I hope to return one day.

Thank you very much for your kind comments. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you again hopefully. Polly and Tabitha.

"A lovely little place to explore from"

Stayed here for a week, and it was a great location to explore Cornwall from. It is a 'get away from it all' place, in a tiny village in the middle of no where. The cottage was comfortable… More

Thank you for your review and we are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Ley Cottage and found it comfortable and clean.
Although it seems harsh not to allow pets upstairs in the cottage, we have to bear in mind our future visitors comfort and, as we supply the bed linen, we wouldn't want pet hairs to spoil a holiday. In our experience dogs are anxious when left alone in a strange place and so to avoid distress (and possible damage) we ask guests to make sure their pet is not left unattended.
Ley Cottage is more than 150 years old and does come with character! We do advise that the cottage isn't suitable for less mobile visitors as the stairs are a little steep. None of our other visitors have mentioned a "musty" smell and we do endeavour to keep Ley Cottage "spotless", so we are sorry that you found this during your stay. We will be looking into it.
Once again, thank you for your review and your comments, we appreciate the feedback.

"Really cute cottage!"

My boyfriend and I had a lovely stay at Ley cottage - despite the weather! The cottage is cute and cosy and there were lots of little touches to make our stay even more enjoyable. We loved lighting the fire and candles in the evenings! The location is good for visiting lots of places although the immediate surrounding roads are very steep and windy!! We didn't find this a problem though and enjoyed our stay very much.

Thank you for the lovely comments! I am glad you enjoyed your holiday and we would love to have you as a guest again.
