About this location
The Province of Leinster region
The Sunny South East of Ireland is the sunniest and dryiest part of the country .Just 1.5 hours from Dublin this area is a wonderful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the City . The historical heartland of Ireland from Monastic settlements to the Vikings ,Normans ,The battles of 1798 the area is littered weith ruins of times gone by .Our coast has a great selection of beaches and the rivers Barrow, Nore and Suir flow through this region with little villages scattered along their banks .There is something for everyone in the family cycling ,walking ,horse riding or just sitting with a cup tea taking in the stunning country side.
"Never been Here ,You'll never forget it "Irish Times. St Mullins is deep in the Mystic Barrow Valley tucked away from the outside world in a land where time has stood still. The river Barrow flows by the front of the cottages as it makes its way down to the town of New Ross and on to the sea .The river is tidal up to the St Mullins lock so we have an ever changing mood where you can sit and dream or pop across to the Mullicháin Cafe for a homemade scone or a bubbling bowl of Marks leak and potato soup. You can cast your fishing line or walk up the river tow path towards the next village or borrow one of our bicycles.Beware this place takes a hold of you .
.St Mullins is ideal for touring the south east as we are plonked right in the middle 35 min to Kilkenny ,Waterford Wexford Carlow and just 15 Min from New Ross and the Dunbrody Famine Ship .For the beach person Duncannon on The Hook is 40 min away and well worth a visit .
