About the home
Le Boterff is a traditional Breton farmhouse set in almost an acre of attractive gardens in an extremely peaceful, rural location of outstanding natural beauty. The pretty little village of St Mayeux is approximately 1 Km away and Mur de Bretagne with its shops, cafes, restaurants and bars is just 6 km away. Being centrally located we are ideally situated for exploring all areas of Brittany.
The stone and granite longère has been beautifully renovated to provide two spacious and comfortable self catering Gites (to sleep 2-6) - Rose Gite and Chevrefeuille Gite. The gites are situated adjacent to the Farmhouse. B&B is available in the farmhouse and Caravan / Camping is available on our peaceful rural site adjacent to our gardens. The property is ideal for individuals, couples, families and groups.
The stunning Lac de Guerledan is just 10 minutes away for sailing, water sports or just relaxing on the sandy beaches. The Abbey de Bon Repos and the beautiful Nantes-Brest Canal are nearby. Other local attractions include Chateaux, lovely villages and medieval towns. The North, South and West coasts of Brittany are easily reached. The walled town of Dinan is an hour away.
There are a number of restaurants, bars, cafés and crêperies in the area to suit all tastes and pockets where you can sample Breton specialities in simple cafés and Bistros or gastronomic delights in Michelin starred Restaurants.
Other activities include walking, cycling, fishing and golf.

The gites have exposed beams and attractive stone features. Wood burning stoves are installed in each gite. The first basket of logs is free of charge. Extra logs are available on request (Charged for).

Bedding, bed linen, towels (not beach) and tea towels are all provided.
Cots, high chairs available on request.

You are struck by the complete peace and quiet as you move from the main house and pass through the gardens which are a haven for wildlife.
Garden tables, chairs and loungers are available either to relax in the shade of the trees or laze in the warmth of the sun.

The Brittany / Cotes-D'Armor region
Brittany is one of France's most rugged regions and is a fascinating mix of spectacular coastline, ancient towns, magical islands and inland woods. It is a land rich in culture, tradition and history. When you journey through Brittany you'll discover a people whose language, customs and dress are a vivid reminder of their Celtic heritage. There is so much to see and do in Brittany for all ages there is never enough time to do it all!
Brittany has a very mild climate and is generally sunny and warm in Spring and Summer. The countryside of central Brittany is gently undulating, interspersed with waterways and woods. The coastlines are rugged and wild with stretches of sandy beaches,
The list of places to go and things to see is endless. Prehistoric monuments, medieval towns and Chateaux, beaches and rugged coastlines, churches, architecture, markets, lakes and towns. So if you are thinking of self catering in France and want to see as much of Brittany as you can, then Le Boterff is ideal for couples, families or groups and, being centrally located you can easily reach wherever you want to go.
The St Mayeux area
Only ten minutes drive away, is the stunning Lac de Guerledan with safe sandy beaches, where you can swim or enjoy many other water sports. Pedalos, boats and canoes can all be hired, or take a cruise around this beautiful lake or visit the lakeside crêperie, bar or restaurants.
The 16th C. Abbey at Bon Repos and the Chateau Forges des Salles are 15 minutes away. Other Chateaux, pretty villages and walled towns of historic and cultural interest, such as Pontivy, Josselin, Quimper, Moncontour, Dinan and St Brieuc, as well as many other places of interest, are all within easy reach on quiet roads. Many towns and villages such as Quintin, Pontivy, Rostrenen and St Brieuc have markets, where you can sample local produce and crafts and Mur de Bretagne has a Friday evening summer market in July & August.
You can enjoy fishing, walking, or cycling along the banks of the Lac de Guerledan or the Nantes-Brest canal. Golf can be played at Pontivy or St Brieuc. These are all nearby to be enjoyed and because Le Boterff is right in the centre, the north, south and west coasts and beaches are all easily reached for days out.
For lovers of French cuisine, you can linger over your meal in a wide choice of restaurants and bistros or just relax with a coffee in a street café and watch the world go by.
