Set in the beautiful rural hamlet of La Borderie, with fabulous views across the picturesque surrounding Limousin and Dordogne countryside the house, Ty Wen, sits in its own secluded grounds. This converted French farmhouse has a charm all of its own, that will captivate you and relax even the greatest stresses.

Ty Wen is situated in a tiny hamlet of just eight houses, and most of these are unoccupied! It is five minutes' drive from the small town of St. Mathieu and just 20 minutes from Nontron (Dordogne). The nearest main airport, Limoges, is just a 40 minute drive, and the international airport has great links to the UK and Europe.

The carefully decorated and restored accommodation is for up to 12 people across two floors.

This character accommodation is totally modernised to a very high standard, whilst retaining many original features. This includes the occasional beam that you probably would have wanted a little higher. Don't worry; you won't bang your knees on them!

BRAND NEW swimming pool, 10m x 5m, glorious pool and patio, words can't describe it!!!

There are;

Four large bedrooms, three on the first floor and a twin on the ground floor. This ground floor room also has a sofa bed and is great for less mobile guests.

The first floor rooms include a master bedroom (>25 Sq. M), with king size bed and en-suite,

a double, queen size this also includes a child's cot (folded away if not required),

and a triple children's room (three singles). The Triple room also has a futon and can accommodate four.

All bedrooms have traditional restored wooden farm house floors, a chest of drawers and a wardrobe. The upstairs rooms all have sky lights and windows. Bed linen and towels are included.

A well-equipped modern kitchen dining room (>25 Sq. m) with wood burner (for the cooler months), the dining area has a large dining table and can comfortably seat eight people. The kitchen is well equipped with a fridge freezer, electric oven and hob, microwave oven, dishwasher, iron, toaster, kettle, coffee percolator and washing machine etc. The double doors lead from the kitchen to the rear garden and patio area.

The living area (>25 Sq. m) is comfortably furnished with a mixture of modern and antique furnishings, TV (English channels) and DVD player, music centre, and karaoke machine, DVD's, CD's, books and games are provided for your entertainment.

Again with wood burner (A supply of logs is included in the rental). The living room also has a single door to the garden.

The main bathroom is spacious and with a lovely modern décor. The double window opens on to the garden, but if you prefer a more private bathing experience, as we are sure you will, the walk in shower, enamelled bath and basin provide the perfect porcelain glad environment for you. There is also a separate WC.

Upstairs a family bathroom, with basin, WC and free-standing roll-top bath. With the right timing, you can lie in the bath and gaze through the skylight at the beautiful stars above.

Outside to the rear of the property, is a large patio area with ample garden furniture and BBQ. The rear garden is in three parts; 1. The large patio (south east facing), great for sitting and watching the world go by, or soaking up the sunshine (it is in sun from morning to late at night) or watching the sun set. Once the sun has gone down, the night sky is a true wonder. Miles from the nearest towns the sky is bright with stars, planets and satellites. You will see more stars than you have ever seen before.

2. A huge grass area, including many fruit trees (help yourself), a children's climbing frame and trampoline.

3. A separate field to the side of the house. If the grass is short enough the 100m x 30m area gives you plenty of room for that football game you had been thinking of!

The main garden is completely enclosed, with gates at both end and a hedge all the way around. This tranquillity, seclusion and security can't be beaten. Garden furniture includes; wooden tables, patio chairs, parasol, recliners, hammock and leather garden recliners.

Outside to the front of the house, there is ample off road parking.

Ideal base for cycling, walking and family holidays. You can really get away from it all!
