A beautiful gite sleeping four people in two upstairs bedrooms. Equipped kitchen including gas oven and microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle, coffee maker., Shower room, living area with comfortable seating, English-speaking tv, cd and dvd player. Desk. All linen and towels supplied and included in the price. Beautiful balcony with views over garden and Normandy countryside. Barbecue provided. Own laundry with washing machine, tumble drier, ironing board and iron.. The Grand Gite has its own entrance and is completely self contained and private. We also have a very large boules pitch in the garden. Please note that this gite has two flights of stairs. One flight leads from the ground floor up to the living are and the other flight of stairs leads from the living area up to the two bedrooms. The shower room is downstairs from the bedrooms on the same floor as the living area.
Situated in 5 acres of peaceful Normandy countryside, the gite has been refurbished to a very high standard this year. We pride ourselves on our cleanliness and attention to detail. You will be able to enjoy the peace and quiet of the gardens and pond and the English-speaking owners will be available to answer your questions and offer advice. We are within an hour's drive to the Normandy landing beaches, Bayeux Tapestry and the famous Mont St Michel. Lots of opportunity for cycling , horse riding, canoeing, walking and sightseeing.

The Basse-Normandie region
The region of Lower Normandy is lush, green and mainly agricultural. It offers beautiful summer weather with temperatures often around a perfect 25C. There is much to do in the region. You are never far from the coast with its beautiful sandy beaches. Granville is a very pretty seaside town where you will find fantastic seafood and you can also visit the Christian Dior museum. The UNESCO world heritage site of Mont St Michel is in the Manche region and the capital of the region is St Lo where you will find the National Haras. Normandy is the horse capital of France, where the cooler climate compared to the south is ideal for breeding and training. There are many WW2 sites in the area including, Arromanches with the D-Day museum and circular cinema, Musee memorial d'Omaha Beach, Musee America Gold Beach, and Musee du Debarquement d'Utah Beach. There is also the wonderful Atlantic Wall Museum in Ouistreham. In Bayeux you can visit the Tapestry which is a 70 metre long depiction of William the Conqueror's invasion of England and the Battle of Hastings. Caen the City of William the Conqueror is about an hour's drive away from the gite.
Within short, easy driving distance there are many activities to choose from. Cycling, walking, canoeing and horse riding can be done in the immediate vicinity. Take a short drive to the coast and enjoy local seafood. There is a vast selection of local markets selling wonderful bread, cheese, wine and fresh fruit and vegetables. Perfect for your picnics. The area around our property is mainly agricultural, very peaceful and the best place to base yourself after a day of sightseeing or activity.
