Stone's Throw is accessed down a fairly steep flight of steps to the patio and arrive at the front door.
The entrance hall of the apartment houses a picnic basket, two deckchairs and a portable BBQ, perfect for grabbing and decamping to the beach opposite.
To the left of the hall there is a rather fabulous wet room with under floor heating, heated towel rail, WC and handbasin.
To the right of the hall you enter the main living area furnished in a unique style including large antique wardrobe with a French Style mirror. The sitting area features a pair of gorgeous leather Loveseats, together with coffee table, flat screen TV with Sky and Sky movies. There is also a combined Radio/DVD/iPod player/Alarm and a selection of Games, books and DVD's to use and enjoy! There is an old school desk so guests can park their laptops. The mirrored coffee table has the added benefit of bouncing the light so the person opposite the window is bathed in beautiful light and looks their absolute best. Try it out! It even works on a dull day.
The (european)King size Cabin style bed can be curtained off at night. The bed is very comfortable and has a pocket sprung mattress Linen is 100% cotton and the duvet and pillows are all season feather. A non feather duvet can be provided on request.
The Kitchen and dining area has a newly installed fitted kitchen with a range style cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. The Chandelier has a dimmer and the table can be opened out to allow seating for 2 or 4 people.
New for 2013, a Nespresso coffee machine with integrated milk frother. Also a tray table by the bed, perfect for a lazy breakfast.
|Further details outdoors|
Access is via a small patio garden, please note the stairs are a little bit steeper than normal, so may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties. The property is across the road from the beach. Please note that there is no sea view from inside the property. There is a seating area with bistro table and chairs surrounded by potted plants and fairy lights, but there will be some traffic noise. Parking is free. There is usually space outside the flat on the road in the day, but it is trickier at night. However there is a free car park at the end of the road, less than 2 minutes walk away. August is quite difficult to park whatever time of day. It may require a longer walk.
About this location
The East Sussex region
St Leonards-on-Sea is a great base from which to explore 1066 country, being conveniently located between Hastings and Bexhill-on-Sea, both of which feature a range of interesting attractions. Just inland you will find the historic town of Battle and travelling further afield Rye, Eastbourne, Lewes and Brighton are all easy to reach by car or train.
For art lovers, The Jerwood gallery in Hastings has just opened and the De La Warr gallery in Bexhill is also close with great exhibitions. Both can make a great day out by walking along the beach to reach them. There is also the Towner gallery in Eastbourne and the newly opened art gallery in Margate, a little further afield.
St Leonards on Sea
As mentioned above there is plenty of cultural activity, a vibrant music scene and independent art galleries with regular private views on a friday. There are also plenty of cafes and antique shops (reasonable prices). Fresh fish can be bought from the Stade, provided by our fishermen. Lovely walks in the country parks. Beautiful gardens, kite surfing and sailing for enthusiasts.
For lovers of architecture, Hastings and St. Leonards and the old town has so many grade 11 listed buildings, buildings designed by Decimus and James Burton and last but not least, Marine Court, the art deco building that looks like a ship.
There are also plenty of traditional seaside attractions from crazy golf, pirate caves, the castle, amusements, funfairs, ice cream, fresh fish & chips and perhaps some of the most interesting festivals all year round. Fat tuesday (jazz), beatles day, May Day, Old Town Week, Pirate Day, the sea food and wine festival, america ground celebrations, carnivals, and bonfire night processions.

"You'll (probably) love this place"
Barry and Tina have done a really nice job with this apartment, everything you need is there and the info that's supplied is fantastic. Great location too, and although we had a couple of problem… More
I'm glad you had enjoyed some of your stay, but sorry to hear you didn't like the wet room. Unfortunately, as its a small flat and limitations with its listed building status, we had no choice but to make it a wet room, as there wasn't really room for a shower tray. However, I'm surprised to hear it took 2-3 hours for the underfloor heating to dry out the floor, it normally only takes 20 minutes to dry out. Its possible the control had been switched off by a previous guest, which has happened before. If not we'll have to get a tradesman in to look at that. We appreciate that you have told us about problems and likes and dislikes because it gives us a chance to either sort them out or put more information in the advert. We'll add to the advert now about the size of the wet room. We'll also make a more comprehensive list for our meeter and greeter, to make sure that the underfloor heating controller is switched on and to show guests where it is, plus check its working.

Thank you for your lovely review, we are glad you liked our apartment and enjoyed the Christmas goodies. We always try to make the Christmas and New Year welcome pack extra special. We felt really sorry for you both for having to endure the unusually bad weather. Luckily you are regular visitors to Hastings and weren't put off! Thank you for being so understanding while we sorted out the problems the weather brought. It is a big relief for us that you enjoyed yourselves nonetheless and appreciated the good things. Really hope to see you again in much better weather!
