Located in the heart of the Limousin, this traditional village house is an ideal spot for those with a sporting interest - from Fishing, cycling and walking to water sports at nearby Lac de Vassiviere. Aubusson is the centre for Tapestry and Limoges for its Porcelain. Medieval villages are abundant as are local Artisans selling their wares. Local weekly food and antique markets nearby. Local shops, auberges and bars in surrounding villages - Peyrat Le Chateau only 10 mins away, as is Beujeleuf. You can even take a ride on the steam train or follow the route of Richard the Lionheart!! Your holiday can be as quiet or as busy as you wish to make it!! And if you are house hunting - eat your heart out!!

The Limousin / Auvergne / Haute-Vienne region
Found on the western side of the Massif Central, you will find hidden among the Limousins rolling green countryside, lakes and beaches nestling between the valleys. This region offers warm springs, hot summers and cold, very often snowy, winters
Limoges is famous for its procelain and architecture.Porcelain sales usually take place in August. The Limousin Beef Festival is held in August and Bastille day is celebrated with day long celebrations and fireworks. Aubusson is famous for its Tapestry and Carpets. Local festivals include the famous Gendarms at Voleurs Race, held in Ambazac during May with runners, pursued by gendarmes riding horses, over 32km!! In Sauviat sur Vige there is usually a wine festival during the month of June. And not forgetting Christmas Markets in December.
St Leonard de Noblat area
St Leonard de Noblat where each street has two names - medieval and present. Plenty of History and Architecture to discover, fantastic Patisseries, traditional bars, and a lovely restaurant overlooking the Vienne. Plenty of small lakes with beaches for total relaxation. Lac de Vassiviere (15 mins) covers 2741 acres. There is 45km of shore line. Watersports in abundance, play areas for children, and home to many sporting events - sailing, Tour de France, motorbike endurance trials. Ideal for fishing, swimming and walking. Boat tours available around the lake and to the Ile de Vas where you will find natural works of art. Dining Cruises also available at very reasonable prices.
How to get there
Fly to Limoges Airport - 40 mins by car to house Cheap flights available from Ryanair. Car Hire available from Avis, Hertz ,Europecar etc Eurostar to Paris and SNCF to Limoges and St. Leonard.
By Car - it is around a 6hr30min drive - not accounting for breaks using toll roads. National routes will take a little longer but are more scenic.

Further details indoors: Situated on a hill within the hamlet, 180 degree view of the valley and views of the Church and village square to the right, this house is made of traditional stone with oak. Comprising of fully fitted kitchen/dining room, Front room with Woodburning Inglenook, Sofas ( large double sofa bed) TV, Board Games - tiled floor. Oak stairs leading to : Shower room with sink and WC. Twin bedded room and Double bedded room with 2 extra campbeds available. Curtains in lounge and bedrooms but you may wish to just close the shutters.
Further details outdoors: Backing on to local hillside, the garden is opposite the house with steps leading down to cave, lawn (sloping) and gravel BBQ area - table, chairs and bbq provided. Over the course of the year the garden will be having a face lift in order to open up the bottom 2 terraces for 2008.
