Dating back over 150 years, this enchanting and romantic cottage has recently been renovated to a very comfortable standard and is literally bursting with character from the narrow little staircase to the low ceiling beams and from the huge granite fireplace to the delightful and well stocked, private rear garden.
Decorated in warm and neutral colours, the owners are mindful of today’s exacting standards and have tried to think of every possible element to ensure that guests enjoy every single aspect of this charming property. Apart from the numerous benefits already mentioned!
Hawthorn Cottage is a perfect holiday retreat for those guests who either wish to totally “switch off” and relax in the garden with a BBQ or those with endless energy who wish to bring their pets and literally walk for miles along the cliff tops and surrounding fields and enjoy some of the finest and breathtaking scenery in the world!
Hawthorn Cottage really does have something to offer every guest throughout the year and if you don’t wish to cook every night, the Queens Arms gastro pub in the village extends a very warm welcome to all guests, serves excellent food and is just a short stroll (or stagger) from the cottage!

The West Country / Cornwall region

St Just / Botallack area
St. Just is Cornwall's most westerly town and is situated next to Cape Cornwall. This area is great for walkers, wildlife watchers or those wanting a beach holiday in one of the most beautiful regions in England.
St. Just was once a centre for copper and tin mining and the local medieval church dates back to around the 5th century, stone inscriptions spelling the first two letters of the Greek word for Christ can still be seen. In Bank Square you can find the remains of a round amphitheatre which would have been used in the Middle Ages for games, plays and other events.
Local attractions such as the Eden Project are easily accessible from St. Just or why not take a pleasure flight around the stunning Isle of Scilly.
Situated on the wild North Cornish coast, Pendeen is a great base for walking and wild coastal adventures. The cliff walks are spectacular with plenty of seabirds and seals often visible. Pendeen and surrounding area has rich history of copper and tin mining with ruins and works are scattered around.
St Ives is a few miles away with it's harbour, beach and Tate Gallery. St Ives Bay is a must visit location for beach fiends with the awesome miles of golden sands around Hayle, Gwithian and ever popular National Trust land around Godrevy Head.
