The Cornwall region
Wonderful unspoiled area of Cornwall, ripe for exploration by Car, by Foot, by Bicycle or by local bus. Trains run from London to Penzance & hire cars are available outside Penzance station. Where the bus station is also located.
Many fantastic restaurants and pubs in the area at realistic prices. Seafood is a must while you are here. You can also buy your fresh fish direct at Newlyn harbour & many fish shops around.
West Cornwall is renown for it's mild climate, open gardens, cultural & food festivals & laid back friendly people.
St Just is the most westerly town in Cornwall. Though it is very small it has very good local shops where you can buy all your supplies without having to drive to Penzance all the time.
The local beaches in the far west are very clean and the water quality is good.

"Up to and beyond expectations."
Great cottage - spacious and well equipped with all the information given that you could possibly need. St. Just lovely as a base - sampled two out of the four pubs - would recommend both. Very nice j… More

"Excellent, lovely place to stay"
We stayed for one week at the end of May, the cottage is marvellous it has everything you need, it is beautifully decorated and very clean. There was 6 of us including a dog and we had plenty of room. The facilities are very good, the parking is tight, we had to park in the streets near by as well as a car park just up the road, but that did not spoil it.
St Just is a nice little place to stay and explore Cornwall, I would recommend this house and will return again.
Thank you Ginny

"Welcoming, stylish house, walking distance to the sea... totally won me over to this less well-known area."
From the pretty Mediterranean courtyard to the Moroccan-influenced interior, this holiday house is a real gem. I loved using the beautiful oil-fired Aga in the kitchen (my first experience of such a thing) and the woodburner in the lounge. Granite walls in the lounge really make you feel part of this location, its unique mining history and the cameraderie of a close-knit neighbourhood.
St Just has a surprising number of craft galleries, good pubs to eat out in and a useful mini supermarket. It's a warren of stone houses, back-to-back in terrace, and there are larger houses with a real Victorian villa feel to them as you head towards the sea. I was there in October and was amazed at the number of flowers still blooming happily here, compared to my home in Sussex. We walked on the beaches quite comfortably, too, which we would never have done in the South-East that week.
I liked walking the gentle downhill route to the sea from the cottage. It's about a mile along the country lanes and the views of Cape Cornwall are spectacular, with broad green turf rolling down to the sea.
The golf club is on the way, and this was a great place to stop for coffee and free Wi-Fi. They do meals as well, apparently.
The nearest cove is lovely and you can climb up to the mine shaft chimney high on the cliff for an amazing view.
The great thing about this place is that you can see the weather coming. It's only a short drive from coast to coast, so if the bad weather is on the north Cornwall coast, you can swiftly head for the south coast, or the Lizard.
We toured the entire area, and it seemed as if nowhere was very far away - Minack Theatre high on the clifftops for coffee with a view, Sennen Cove, Porthcurnow, Marazion, St Michael's Mount, Penzance. There's loads going on here. We also took a look at the amazing ancient standing stones on the moorland not far from here.
This cottage is very good value for money, because it sleeps 6-7 comfortably. It's beautifully well appointed.
Having said that, I also think it would make a great retreat for anyone wanting to write a novel, take photos, or just chill out in peace.
If you have a large car you'll need to park it down the road after unloading, because the lanes round here are narrow. If you love walking, you'll really enjoy this place.
We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Stargazy House & hope you will return soon. Ginny & Richard
