Home description
La Vieille Maison dates back to the 19th Century and has recently undergone a complete renovation. It has been finished to a high standard and has many original features on show - such as wooden beams and a stone staircase.
On the ground floor there is a fully equipped kitchen which leads into the cosy lounge. Here you will find a log burner for those long winter nights and comfortable sofas on which to relax.
There is a separate utility area to the other side of the kitchen, with a WC, washing machine and office area - with a computer allowing internet access. There is also a selection of toys and games for children.
On the first floor are two en suite bedrooms - one with a king sized bed, and the other with two twin beds. Both have built in wardrobes and a chest of drawers. There is a cot for young children, and a high chair, changing mat and plastic crockery & cutlery is also provided.
Outside is a lovely terrace, with patio chairs, table and a BBQ. This leads on to the lawned gardens where you will find the heated pool, children's swings and plenty of space for the children to run around!

The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Vendee region
La Vieille Maison is set in the peaceful village of St Juire Champgillon - here you will find a local bar, restaurant and hairdressers. The nearby town of Ste Hermine has many amenities, such as a supermarket, post office, bars, restaurants and good motorway links.
The village is in a rural area surrounded by fields and forests - perfect for walking or cycling. The climate is warm and the Vendee is the 2nd sunniest region in France.
The beaches of the Southern Vendee are only a 40 minute drive away and there are many tourist attractions all within an hour's drive.
St Juire Champgillon area
The house is only a 30 minute drive from the amazing theme park of Puy du Fou, where you will be transported back in time to the era of the Vikings, Gladiators and Musketeers.
The sailing port of La Rochelle is also only 40 minutes away - here you will find an aquarium and many harbour-view cafés and restaurants where you can watch the world go by.
In the summer months, there is evening entertainment in the streets of La Rochelle and many festivals and concerts are held throughout the town.
How to get there
La Vieille Maison is located 80 km from Nantes Airport and 60 km from La Rochelle Airport. These airports are served by various budget airlines, such as Ryan Air, Easy Jet, FlyBe and Jet2. Car hire can also be arranged from these airports.
The closest ferry port is St Malo, which is approximately a 3 hour drive away. Cherbourg is 4.5 hours away and Calais is 7 hours away.
