Home description

Chalet Aslan has the perfect combination of traditional Savoyard workmanship and modern luxurious touches such as a large well-equipped kitchen, flat plasma TV, dishwasher etc as well as crisp white linen and new towels. Guests can recline in the newly installed hot tub with a glass of champagne whilst watching the sun set on the Alps.

The chalet is ideally placed to provide swift access to a number of ski stations, which then link to the Portes du Soleil network.

St Jean d'Aulps is located 1 hour and 15 minutes drive from Geneva Airport where there are many rental car companies. Private transfers can be included in your accommodation for an extra per-person charge.

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region

Chalet Aslan is set in the heart of the beautiful and unspoilt area of the French Alps.

The area is designated an area of outstanding beauty with majestic mountains, tumbling rivers and beautiful woodland. All of the surrounding Savoyard villages and towns have retained their traditional look and are not aesthetically challenged like most purpose built French ski resorts. They are traditional alpine market towns which have retained their historical charm and are now well served with restaurants, bars and shopping facilities.


St Jean d'Aulps area

St Jean d’Aulps has everything you need for a perfect stay, such as small shops, tourist office, fromagerie and a quiet local bar which also serves excellent pizza. In addition there is a supermarket, patisserie, paper-shop, ski-hire and clothing store and a variety of restaurants. Locally there is a large and modern Champion Supermarket, and numerous other smaller supermarkets, as well as a weekly farmer's market.

The village is situated in one of the largest interconnected ski area in the world, the area boasts 628kms of pistes, 288 marked slopes, 209 ski lifts and covers 8 French ski resorts and 6 Swiss resorts. It covers 400 hectares, 206 ski lifts, and 288 slopes (41 green runs, 109 blue runs, 110 red runs, 28 black runs, and 4 snowcross). It also has hundreds of kilometres of freeride areas. Beginners and children are well catered for, not only in the larger resorts of Morzine-Avoriaz or Les Gets, but also in the nearby ski resorts of Drouzin le Mont or St Jean d’Aulps.

For summer activities, Lake Geneva is approx. 20 kilometres away. There are several beaches on the shores of the lake, both at Thonon-les-Bains and its more famous neighbour, Evian-les-Bains. Additionally, there is an 18-hole golf course in the town of Les Gets, which is approx. 16 kilometres from the chalet. Both Les Gets and Montroind offer swimming lakes open to the public in July and August.

Parapenting, kayaking, Climbing and mountain biking are all available in Morzine: much of the ski-lift system remains open in summer to access the mountains at altitude, for cyclists and walkers alike. The spectacular Pont de Diable (Devils Gorge), is only 2 kilometres from the chalet. Lake Geneva and the spa towns of Thonon-les-Bains and Evian-les-Bains are approx 20 kilometres away.

Air
The closest airport is Geneva, approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes away. There are frequent flights from the UK to Geneva with most major carriers. At Geneva Airport there are several car hire companies, alternatively we can arrange private transfers on your behalf.

Rail
The area can also be reached via TGV from Paris to Thonon-les-Bains, which is about 20 minutes drive away.

Drive
From the channel tunnel/ferry port of Calais, the chalet can be reached in about 9 hours, using the French motorway system for almost the entire route.

First floor:
3 double bedrooms, one with double bed; two have king-sized beds that can be split into two singles if needs be.
Bedrooms at the front of house have doors onto private balcony.
Master bedroom has an en-suite with bath and separate WC.
Additional bathroom with shower and separate WC.

The chalet is offered on a self catered basis. Prices include: electricity, water, all local holiday taxes, linen and towels. There is an additional charge of €100 for cleaning the chalet at the end of your stay.

Chalet Aslan changes over the accommodation on Sundays during the winter season.
